About 70% of our imports currently come from the EU. Poor trade deals will cut that sales point for the remaining EU nations at a time they need the sales
————————

Again incorrect, the figure is nearer 53%
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh, now you mention that, it’s not a lot then.

Sure they can sell that excess to themselves.

Do you think their (and our) by then struggling economies will refuse to trade with each other because of EU rules when every country has done what was best for them during this crisis?

From listening to the government update they don’t really expect normality for 6 months or beyond so if they’re right that’s September/October.

And the in January they’ll just put the shutters down in trade with us.

I highly doubt that.

That’s a good thing.

We’ll have our own bills to pay. The EU as you knew it will never be the same again after this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, it will be a Hell of a lot better without the f*cking whinging dead weight UK holding it back.

I think it’s reasonable to suggest that it’s not as simple as 1 v 27. The trade and size of the U.K. is likely equivalent to most of the smaller ones put together.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whilst that's true (smaller member states) it's a competency the EU (for all it's shortcomings) excels in.

The EU can offer partners access to the largest trading bloc in the planet which is a massive draw. The US, China, Japan etc have all had to adopt EU regulations to gain market access. As will the UK.

The UK is facing the prospect of aligning with EU regulations but at the same time trying to negotiate with other countries around the world.

It’s quite literally that.

27 V 1. All with their own specific demands and a veto.

I think the fact you believe whatever the EU says and having lost every argument along the way says it all really.

You’re stuck in some idealistic notion of utopia with zero connection to the real world.

Here’s one to grab your attention. We are no longer a divided parliament and whatever it what to trade with or not it will do. No messing around. No arguments. No further discussion to be had.

1st January. Bookmark that.

Genius, Britain will be in a far worse place when this is all over. We have made a decision to go alone. The EU will all get together to try to sort the way out.

We are on our own mate. There won`t be any trade deals.
