Should see it as contributing to the club
I don't have a season ticket, obviously.
I think this is a case-by-case basis decision.
On two opposite ends of the financial spectrum, there are fans:
1) hurting/will hurt financially that will affect them and their families, and
2) fans who are well off/retired comfortably who will manage this period without anything close to an existential threat.
So if one is in the first group, I imagine getting a refund is really important.
For those in the second group, they may be comfortable supporting the club during a period of extreme hardship for the club and its employees.
Best not to judge each one on their situation and position.
Radz isn’t taking the rent.
Apparently Phil hay has said today that AR said that he won’t take it whilst Leeds are in the championship, even if it’s in the accounts.
“Leeds United will not have to pay owner Andrea Radrizzani rent for the use of Elland Road while they’re still in the Championship and for as long as he continues to fund the club, according to The Athletic’s Phil Hay.
The Italian businessman completed a full takeover of the Yorkshire club in May 2017 and bought back the Whites stadium through a separate company in June that year.
Leeds accounts for the 2018/19 financial year were published this morning and revealed the money that had been pumped into the club as they look to secure promotion to the Premier League.
The losses rose from £4 million the previous year to £21 million, while the wage bill increased by £15 million up to a whopping £46 million.
It is understood that financial support will continue to be provided by Radrizzani through Aser Group and that none of the money owed to it would be called in during the 2019/20 financial year.
Additionally, Hay has revealed that Radrizzani will take no money out of the club in lease payments for Elland Road while they’re in the Championship and he is funding the club.
However, he reported the club will continue to pay rent for the Thorp Arch training ground.“

The liability is building on the balance sheet at the rate of 1.5m per season:
Last page of the accounts (p26), note 27. Related party transactions, 4th paragraph under the table of comparative amounts.
For me, the eye opening data is on page 18, note 7 Staff costs:
Management/admin increased from 105 to 120 people, almost 15%! Full-time playing staff went down by 2, yet the total costs are up by almost 50%!!
We certainly upgrade on players bringing some in who cost more than others, but I would love to dig deeper into these numbers and see where exactly that additional 15m went. Per the next note, #8, directors remuneration jumped 50%!! Is that just, or primarily, Angus? I expect so given who the others are.

So he’s getting it payed later.
This is different to how the buying back of elland road was told when it was bought.

The £1.5m effects FFP
Season ticket monies should be refunded.
Enough conditions are put on ST holders, when they have to pay by, how early they have to pay etc.
Maybe what comes out of this is better contracts and clubs being prepared to pay for the insurance that would have covered them in this situation.
Regarding ER rent, I need to look at what was said in Phil Hay piece exactly, will look this morning.
Have looked at the Athletic piece. There is no quote from AR or anyone at Leeds regarding ER rent.
Unfortunately, as per the last couple of years The club declines to allow AR to be interviewed by the BBC.
After yesterday’s finances I want my money back plus 6% interest on top of interest rates.
I think the money should be refunded or the right to refund must be respected. If you don't get what you paid for then you get your money back, no questions.
Unless the ticket holder wilfully decides to exercise another option, but that should be a choice.
Let's say the average refund would be £100. For a club with 25000 season ticket holders, that club would have to fork out £2.5m
At a time when there is no income, huge costs and future incomes are uncertain.
People are being paid to sit at home for not working.
Sounds like skrooing over the thing you love where you would be devastated if it disappeared.
Each club will be in a different position and so will each persons, but I sincerely hope there is no grassroots movement to demand refunds.
Long
Players don’t get paid full wage then, not deferred, cut if no football.
Long
So you don’t think people who have bought match day for the up coming games, shouldn’t get a refund ???
I'l be wanting a refund for sure for the remaining games if we cant attend them. No if's or but's
Pretty sure match tickets are classed as a football debt, so I doubt there'd be much wriggle room other than asking for people to not claim a refund voluntarily.

The games haven't been cancelled.
They will be ref
refunded surely. Same with match tickets if they had been pre bought.
However there are still plans to complete the season at the moment
You'll get a credit off a future season
looks nearly 100% that season will finish but behind closed doors
Yeah, EFL stated that training is allowed to resume 16th May at the earliest, and that the season will be completed behind closed doors within 56 days.
Nobody knows what will happen.
So far FIFA, Uefa & the football league all seem to be saying the right things and acting with reasonable sense for once.
I would love for the season to resume with crowds. But that looks very unlikely at the moment.
The priority should be to try and finish this season before starting a new one and the majority seem to agree with this. It just makes sense.
Once football can resume, which it will at some stage, why would we not just resume this season and rearrange next season to accommodate.
As for ticket money, if we can't go we should be refunded and I expect we will be.
The accounts do not surprise at all. The club have been telling us that the plan was always to massively increase the wage budget to give us a chance at promotion. We know that Bielsa & his team are very expensive. We know that AR has been loaning the club money. The club hasn't paid any rent for Elland Road.
Don't get me wrong, AR is not hero. He isn't a saint that has thrown a load of money at the club to give away. He does want it back. If we don't go up he won't get it back though. It's obviously a gamble and much more of a gamble than I would like to see. If he pulls it off then fair play and great for us too. If this ends up like Ridsdale then he will be treated the same. Ridsdale didn't gamble with his money though. If the club goes into financial difficulties the loans owed to ARs companies will be worthless.
I've paid for all of this season and I've already paid in full for the next one - whenever that will be.
I'm just letting what will be will be at the moment. When I hear from the club i'll react. Until then i'm focussed elsewhere mainly.
JLA is right - it'll affect fans differently. I'm NHS so I retain an income throughout all this, some can't say that, and I really feel for them - so they'll rightly have a different view on a refund.
The club and the players took a deferral, i'm sort of happy to take the same approach and give the club breathing space. The accounts don't change that.
According to Mike Thornton we are not actually paying any rent:
“We are not paying rent - a nominal figure is included in the accounts purely from an accounting POV, no cash has changed hands and will not do until the Club can fund itself in the EPL (no point Radz giving Club £3m for the Club to give it straight back to him!!! “
EFL chairman Rick Parry reveals plans to finish current season in a 56 day period with potential for behind closed doors games. Clubs advised not to recommence any training activity with players until May 16 at earliesT.
Seems they still want and expect a conclusion,
