No government could do better than this.
Other than us having the highest daily death toll in Europe, Germany and South Korea having much flatter curves, lack of PPE in hospitals, testing at a much lower rate than other countries etc. No one else could have done better.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think only America is doing worse ffs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The UK`s deaths per percentage of population is actually one of the lowest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can't use death per percentage of population as measurable factor on an airborne infectious disease. It is a bit more complex than that. The way it gets transmitted depend on density and so many factors which are taken into account if only base on percentage per population
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what measurement would you use?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

WHO official report lol.
Is it true that China stopped WHO using the very word Taiwan, even though Taiwan handled covid well?
I think we can learn a lot from China.
Lie about what actually happens in your country, control media, abuse people, buy up Africa while being racist...make stuff the world needs through cheap labour, so that the West has to buy PPE from the nation that gave us and lied about having covid-19.
It's the way forward.
China back at work again too, as the world goes into recession??
If I was into conspiracy theories.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sounds like you are.

Just calling china out, as I do with this govt and Corbynista, for fairness and how I see things, Tam.
Fact is if we hadn’t just had ten years of austerity and cuts we would have been more prepared.
Germany chose not to use austerity after financial crash and they are a much safer country than ours right now.
Defend tories as much as you like, they closed hospitals, fire stations, police stations, cut ambulances, froze pay for public sector workers, underfunded the nhs for ten years etc etc
Major reasons why we are in such a mess right now.
Even your hero Boris took 20 fire engines away from London and tried for close lewisham hospital.
Tories cuts are costing lives. It’s just that simple.

Good question and honestly, I don't have the answer as they all have flaws but especially if you look at it as % of population.
To me, looking at the rate on infections and death is probably more significant and tells you whether or not appropriate responses were put in place.

Can you explain why Italy, France, UK, America and Spain are all suffering high death rates....not all Tory govts?
Or why in Sweden or Mexico, fewer are dying......one has no hard lockdown or social distancing and Mexico is relatively poor with a weaker health system than the UK?

This.
There might not be a direct link between the number of death and the state of the NHS, although you could easily argue that there is.
But there is a direct links between current state of the NHS and the lockdown.
The length of lockdown will only be determined by the capacity of the NHS to absorb and treat patient. Without the austerity, the UK could have had probably a more relax lockdown just like the Netherlands and Sweden have and that wouldn't such an impact on the economy. Instead, the government had to take drastic measure and might not open business for another month.
Who threw WHO under a bus, lol?
Trump might have removed funding...nobody here did.
If that WHO bus comment was not for me, who said WHO were to blame for this all, lol?
That would be s weird claim.

Other than us having the highest daily death toll in Europe, Germany and South Korea having much flatter curves, lack of PPE in hospitals, testing at a much lower rate than other countries etc. No one else could have done better.

Think only America is doing worse ffs.

The UK`s deaths per percentage of population is actually one of the lowest.

According to research by Deep Knowledge Group (DKG), a Hong Kong venture capital group specialising in medicines, Germany is the second safest country in the world during Covid-19 pandemic, with Israel in the top spot. Britain is not in the Top 40 safest.

Pretty much sums up the problem. People allow their biases to rule over actualling looking into things. You've already dismissed research because the findings won't suit your own narrative of solely blaming China.

They likely gave the world bird flu, Sars and now covid, lied about it, did not inform the rest of the world right away, gagged a whistle blower doc, who died of covid.....and now, Wuhan is open for business, complete with wet market unhygienic Bush meat sales.
Just like questioning govt ministers or America or the EU response for Italy and Spain, some of us will shine a spotlight on chins too.
Why would you not do likewise, Tam?
Not blame China solely, as that is not what I am saying either.

Fact is if we hadn’t just had ten years of austerity and cuts we would have been more prepared.
Germany chose not to use austerity after financial crash and they are a much safer country than ours right now.
------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So, relaxed lockdown would have been easier if Tories had not been in power, trying to balance the books after the 2008 crash?
Even though, Ireland and Italy tell us we locked down too little too late.
Not a fan of austerity, like I do not like paying bills or credit card payments, but we have to pay our way, or pass it to next generation.
Sadly, the poor get hammered hard.
That is the world over and not just Tory UK.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can't use death per percentage of population as measurable factor on an airborne infectious disease. It is a bit more complex than that. The way it gets transmitted depend on density and so many factors which are taken into account if only base on percentage per population
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what measurement would you use?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good question and honestly, I don't have the answer as they all have flaws but especially if you look at it as % of population.
To me, looking at the rate on infections and death is probably more significant and tells you whether or not appropriate responses were put in place.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The trouble is, some nations are doing much more testing than others; so it is impossible to really get clear figures.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
True. Combine that with the fact that deaths are not reported correctly or should I say honestly, then you realise how hard it is to have a clear view.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whilst people criticise China for not being open, I'm not sure we could trust the US or even our own government to actually be open with figures to be honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Figures all over are Guesstimates.

No. Relaxed lockdown would have been easier if the NHS was in better state.
Over the past decade, the government have prioritised their own agenda in detriment to others without really understand their thought process. This hasn't stopped yet btw. The HS2 project still going ahead by the look of it. Even though we could have the worse recession since 1930s

Major reasons why we are in such a mess right now.
Even your hero Boris took 20 fire engines away from London and tried for close lewisham hospital.
Tories cuts are costing lives. It’s just that simple.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Andrew Neil @afneil
According to research by Deep Knowledge Group (DKG), a Hong Kong venture capital group specialising in medicines, Germany is the second safest country in the world during Covid-19 pandemic, with Israel in the top spot. Britain is not in the Top 40 safest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
China number 5... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty much sums up the problem. People allow their biases to rule over actualling looking into things. You've already dismissed research because the findings won't suit your own narrative of solely blaming China.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure Anyone solely blamed China Anywhere here?
They likely gave the world bird flu, Sars and now covid, lied about it, did not inform the rest of the world right away, gagged a whistle blower doc, who died of covid.....and now, Wuhan is open for business, complete with wet market unhygienic Bush meat sales.
Just like questioning govt ministers or America or the EU response for Italy and Spain, some of us will shine a spotlight on chins too.
Why would you not do likewise, Tam?
Not blame China solely, as that is not what I am saying either.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have criticised both China and WHO. Saying I haven't is an outright lie. The situation is a lot more complex than people like you make it though and you would be quite happy to allow the WHO to be shut down and China to take all the blame if it suited you political biases rather than take an objective look at what has actually happened.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can't use death per percentage of population as measurable factor on an airborne infectious disease. It is a bit more complex than that. The way it gets transmitted depend on density and so many factors which are taken into account if only base on percentage per population
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what measurement would you use?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Worst in Europe, one of had top 5 worst in the world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why?
It is not as simple as saying, Tory govt....although I agree they handled it too slowly and cuts are making things harder.
Why is Mexico doing ok, for example?
Or Sweden?
Is it luck.
Again, and it seems to be dismissed by some, Bame seem to be hit hardest in western nations with good health services, and we see London, NY and Brum and Chicago have huge death figures, so Is it density and make up of population?

Good question and honestly, I don't have the answer as they all have flaws but especially if you look at it as % of population.
To me, looking at the rate on infections and death is probably more significant and tells you whether or not appropriate responses were put in place.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The trouble is, some nations are doing much more testing than others; so it is impossible to really get clear figures.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
UK and USA testing highly.

Fact is if we hadn’t just had ten years of austerity and cuts we would have been more prepared.
Germany chose not to use austerity after financial crash and they are a much safer country than ours right now.

True. Combine that with the fact that deaths are not reported correctly or should I say honestly, then you realise how hard it is to have a clear view.

Whilst people criticise China for not being open, I'm not sure we could trust the US or even our own government to actually be open with figures to be honest.
