I’ve not seen any mention of Emperor Palparinho.

Maybe, I think it’s more likely that Dinho would have jettisoned for his lifestyle and Ronaldo stays as long as he did.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Imagine in an alternative reality Ronaldinho joined and SAF whipped him into shape. We went on to win 5 CL titles and Carrick managed to nail down a position in his first 5 seasons 😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Carrick would probably never have got a look in in his early number 10 role if Ronaldinho was here.

R9 for me is just a more talented and better player
CR7 deserves respect for better fitness and life choices but R9 was phenomenal and I can name many top footballers who would name him as their best.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Best ever in terms of talent arguably but surely not a better player than guys who are at a ridiculous standard year after year after year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
CR7 never had the injury issues that R9 had. They ruined his career but he still managed to score plenty of goals and score some of the best goals you’ll ever see. At 18 he scored 47 goals in 49 games for Barca. Then injuries ruined what was to come. But at his peak he was playing at a higher level than CR7
Just an opinion and one shared my some ex footballers too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But CR7 doesn’t have injury issues as he trains and conditions himself to the Highest level.
R9 didn’t look after himself as well and suffered more injuries as a result.
That’s another thing in cr7 favour, not a stick to beat him with
Literally only nostalgia merchants would pick R9
It’s not even worth a debate
Is there any validity in the argument that as the footballing economy has become ever more unequal, the gap between the resources of the top clubs and the others has grown to the extent that playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid today gives a player a better platform to shine than it would have done a generation or two ago? Obviously, you have to be a once (twice in this case) in a generation player to stack up the numbers that Ronaldo and Messi have achieved, but for instance, would Maradona's achievements have looked significantly greater had he played for one of the super clubs of the 2010s? Would Cristiano Ronaldo have scored quite as many goals playing in a more evenly matched league in the 1980s?
There’s some merit in it, though I don’t think Maradona would be tolerated by a super club in the modern game. Barca couldn’t even tolerate him in the 80’s.

Keep him on a shorter leash like today's players and it's possible he'd have been more disciplined.
I’m not convinced, the bloke is just insane. He’d fail more drugs tests as well. I don’t think he could coexist with the current football climate. Especially at a super club. He’d be a pr disaster.
Look at just how much negative press modern footballers get for the slightest misconduct. Maradona in this digital age would be ridiculous. He’d be by far the most hated man in football. Unless we recreate a reality where he’s a normal person. Which he is quite clearly not.
