Because Tories care more for the economy than peoples lives. There are spare beds in ICU that need filling, simple.
They want the next hurd to be infected.
Because the decision around continuing a full lockdown depends on the current capacity of the NHS. That simple.
Genuinely interested in the counter-argument though - presumably people who think we should be continuing a full lockdown believe we should do so until a vaccine is available?
The lockdown is only due to the NHS, as long as the NHS can cope they’ll keep easing lockdown regardless of how many people die

Lots more to it than that.
Testing people, not just key workers is a huge one,we've no idea how many have even been infected.
What's the alternative stay locked down forever?
Might as well just get on with it now and hope for the best and add it to another way you might die to the endless and ever growing list of ways to die.
One interesting thing in the stats that are way above average, for under 35's there is zero increase/change whatsoever in death numbers, and for 35-50 only marginal increases, 35-65 for women only marginal increases.
So unless you're a man, obese, and over 50 you might as well just take your chances
The lockdown hasn't even worked that well. Six weeks in and there's still a high number of new cases. Other countries have done it better.
This NHS capacity thing is a curiosity, they stopped delivering so many services including critical ones such as cancer care.
Does this NHS capacity include going back to normal there and managing coronavirus?

Again though - the antibody test doesnt appear to be on it's way anytime soon.
And even if it was, what would be your move if it showed a huge majority hadn't been infected?
not the first to ease though.
The number of new cases is linked to the number of tests.
So much data and so much ability to misinterpret it - whether deliberately or not.
yet the first country in Europe to ease restrictions this much.

No we aren't. Not even close. What a sharticle.
Only Germany, Spain, France, Belgium and the Dutch were before us.
After those we was def first though oh wait Italy, Austria, Denmark and Poland did it too

No, not at all, but in Holland and Ireland and Italy the cases per day are down a lot for example, so you can start to ease. In the UK you still have 4000 cases per day, as you did a couple weeks back. Thats whats the difference is.

It took Italy a long time to get the cases down, UK are easing up too soon imo.
You can see here that we were also not the last to go into lockdown:

Other countries are easing up much more careful than the UK where you had people like sardines in a tin in public transport, with the warning to stay alert.
You are the only country telling people to go back to work.

Yea if they can’t do it from home
In Spain people can walk a kilometer in the morning a few hours and in the evening. Still only go out for shopping.
Ireland still on full lock down.
Other countries werent hit as hard as the UK.
I am not here to attack anyone, I am genuinely surprised, because I want to get the fack out of my gaff and get the kids back in school, but thats not happening for another 2.5 months !!!
