Which footballers have said they’ve to scared to play and have been partying?

My gut feeling is that most players will want to play. The problem is, that’s not really newsworthy. You’ll only be hearing sound bites from those who raise concerns. Fear sells unfortunately.

What I would say however is that the the mortality rate for lads in their 20s/30s is so infinitesimally small that it’s a wonder why the reporters don’t ask them about driving to the training ground.

I believe that total number of deaths for under 40s with no known health conditions is 31 which is 0.01% of confirmed cases.

Sh!t article.

Yes if they are out of work they may take an extra risk to get work.

I don't feel the risk is actually that high, maybe even lower due to the amount if testing they would do at games, but your article and attitude still sucks balls.

Have you got any examples?

If they spit on the ground it may stop the players diving so often. Win, win.

Walker
Keane
Grealish...

So far this isn't shaping up to be a very interesting finish to the league.

Although the 2 vs 1 concept should yield a few goals.

Not for Arsenal it isn't. Although isn't that the same every season?

Not seeing any Liverpool players there either, meaning 0 points for the rest of the campaign.

Worryingly for you guys... Kyle Walker could win the league for City! Sure Keane wouldn't mind lending a hand in that too...

peoepl need to actually understand the concept of risk

a) disease comes from what? inhaling other peoples virus infected sputum droplets

b) can i get the virus form anyone - only if they have it.

c) can i take precautions. yes. Wash your hands, stay 2m away from people minimum and stop touching your eyes and face/mouth with your hands. Wear a mask if you can't.

d) will 50 people per club be tested? yes.

e) Will this be ongoing? yes.

f) if peopel don't have corona can i get within 2m of them to kick their legs off? Yes.

It really isn't rocket science for these people. IF they are that concerned wear a mask while playing. I bet they would baulk at the suggestion.

I don’t see them as ‘fake’ VJ’. I’ve read that Danny Rose, now at Newcastle has come out saying there shouldn’t be any play until the whole thing is cracked, but that could take year to get there. If they’ve got a genuine concern then, fair enough, they can’t be forced to play.

Imagine, if you will, being a top drawer PL player, international, playing a blinder week in, week out, top top wages too, say in the £100K - £350K a week. The world is your oyster, nothing but nothing going south.

Then comes along a deadly disease. No evidence yet as to who why where how as to where we are headed.
It can hit anyone, young, old, fat, thin, healthy unfit tall, short, the full whack. No warning, no signal, nothing.

These players are, in the main, earning money beyond their wildest dreams x 10. And the great unknown, hanging above their heads is waiting, and could well strike, with devastating results.

At the end of they day, they are only human, just like the rest of us, but with an incredible amount to lose, to come crashing down upon their heads, their own paradise blown to shreds.

If they don’t want to play, or engage even, their choice. Financial ramifications? Depends on the terms of their contracts.

Jimmy well put as always

My issue is people / players are using it as an excuse

Someone said the other day as there are Brighton players with CV not a ball can be kicked in England. Let’s say we stick to this then we will not see football for at least 18 months and by then I’d imagine at least 50% of professional clubs will go under. There will be a player at one club that tests positive for CV for at least the next year or so so we can’t then all of a sudden say it’s no longer important if people are so concerned now - the hypocrisy will be unbearable

posted on 13/5/20

Of course they're using it as an excuse.

It's a deadly virus. What are you talking about?

posted on 13/5/20

It’s a real hit-and-miss situation staring us in the face. I confess I’d thought along the same lines as you with one or two players dropping out, genuinely, with the virus thereby paralysing the whole show. Imagine, say, week 3, a couple of players go down, God forbid. Their whole team can’t play the next few games, but what about the two games they’ve played before and what about their past opponents? Do they all go in to lockdown too? They’d have to wouldn’t they?

For me, that is a real and very realistic proposition.
