Biggest big money flop currently in the PL?

Naby Keita, there's no debate needed to be had here.

Moise Kean £22m Everton....Looks like he's going down the Balotelli route but at a much earlier stage with no past glory to fall back on.

Player that has skill, but too much money too young has done for him

For the money spent for a GK and just how bad he's performed, I think this eclipses Keita at Liverpool.

Keitas even had the advantage of being in a successful team, which removes alot of the pressure on him, but I still think Kepa wins this one

I’d have him number one. Most expensive keeper of all time and he’s been crap.

How is Kepa less of a flop than Lacazette.

John Stones has multiple PL medals, as well as four domestic cups to his name, so I think calling him a flop is pretty harsh. Especially when you see how much is being quoted for CBs that I would say are of a similar level as of recently.

I think Kepa is the obvious one not on this list. Just hasn't worked out at all. Given that he is the most expensive goalkeeper in the world, or something like that, he absolutely warrants a mention for me.

Davinson Sanchez is another that just hasn't worked out as of yet, though, realistically, there's still plenty of time for that to change.

I'd go with Jordan Henderson. He was brought in for ridiculous amounts of money years ago to try and win Liverpool the league and in all of those years he has failed to do so.

Sebastian Haller £45m
JoeLinton £40m

Both club record signings
Both dreadful

Value for money, Pogba is probably top of the list. Lacazette a close second and Keita third. In each position, id go

GK - Kepa
Defender - Stones
Midfielder - Keita
Forward - Lacazette

Stones cost like ten million more than Davinson Sanchez and has returned 3 major trophies for that investment, not even including the 3 league cups he's also won. He might not be great, but I think calling him a flop is very unfair.

Hardly, he’s been crap. He plays for a club that are very good.

Keita is the £58m Kevin Nolan

posted on 17/5/20

He's not been great. He's not been that bad though. And if you can flop despite winning that many major trophies in a three year timespan then I think the word loses all meaning personally.

Not really. A player can flop and still win things if he’s in a great team. Berbatov springs to mind.

We clearly have different definitions of the word then.

Can't get past Pogba I'm afraid. Has the highest profile too. Yes he's won stuff and even had a half decent World Cup going on his own performance but despite a few moments, he's been a real flop.

A player more known for being on Instagram and having haircuts than anything he's done on the pitch. A real shame because the talent is there. Hasn't got it in him to lead a team or inspire players around him, whether by talent or character. It just isn't there. With much better players he can hide more and mask all this but he's been surrounded by average dross so far and it makes him stick out more.

Who was that French defender city bought for 40m when 40m was alot of money and he looked like a Sunday league defender?

posted on 17/5/20

As for Keita are you using having a bad injury record as a barometer for a player being a flop?

Mangala? Was meant to be the next best thing

Keita was meant to be the best midfielder in the league, Liverpool fans wouldn’t stop going on about him

Keita may be the worst midfield signing ever in PL history. I'm struggling to think of someone worse.
