You’re deluded to think no one from the 1000s to be tested wouldn’t return positive
No I’m not
But the issue is how many players they’ve had contact with while asymptomatic will now test positive next week.
Given this means clubs having to restart with players in isolation etc it’s just stupid to force them to restart
Also 1000s!? They test 900

That's 8 from two rounds of testing, first round was what 750 players and staff. Less than 1%...
Look, footballers are very low risk. 2/900 is less than 1%. We all need to start thinking more carefully about the bigger picture now. The government is about to announce that companies will have to contribute 30% of salary to furloughed staff as of last week. The Bank of England reckons that’ll result in 3.4m job losses.
Essentially, millions of people are going to lose their livelihoods if we don’t put an end to this frankly ridiculous lockdown, for a disease that isn’t life threading for the overwhelming majority of people.
It’s only a matter of time now. If c.3m young people find out that they’ll be losing their jobs in the next few weeks because the economy has ground to a halt due to an illness that they’ve been told for 3 months is low risk to them, there’ll be protests and riots.
If we want to avoid another Great Depression then we might have to make some tough choices. In the long run, 10% unemployment will ruin many more lives that a virus with a low mortality rate.

Aye but how many next time? How many false results have there been? The testing isn't accurate from what I keep hearing. Quite a few false positives and false negatives.
It has already been proven games can be played, Germany has been doing it the last two weekends.

Who knows, but saying to call it off now cause of less than 1% of players and staff have tested positive is essentially saying no football for God knows how long.
And it's like any business going back to work now, there are calculated risks to be taken.

What about the BME group in the PL? They are at higher risk.

Jim, so what do you think should happen to the league campaign?
Or jim.what should happen to football until a vaccine is found?
The footy will start again soon. Though we could have been in a better place going forward if the govt hadn't made a mess of things.
Another good result. These people would not have been tested were it not for football. Trace and track.
I’m no expert but I don’t really get all the fuss around football. Of all the industries that have been working throughout, and those now being told to return to work, footballers must be one of the lowest risk. There in so much money in the top flight I imagine they have better access to testing and tracking than the NHS probably do, sadly. Correct me if wrong as haven’t followed the aftermath of the ufc closely and only watched the first two cards, but it seems to have been a success. There will be more chance of catching it in a supermarket than on a football pitch.
All the testing in football is doing is showing those who are positive. And then they are immediately put into 2 week isolation.
You may not like the idea of football coming back, but the measures that are being taken are much safer than literally everybody else has when they're summoned back to work.

Lambeu that’s life! Personally I think BME group should be protected. I know of 2 of my dads friends who are ethnic minority between 40-50 who have died. One was a bus driver and other postman.

I’m not saying we can’t but this hasn’t proven anything yet as it’s still early days.
I'm amazed people have a problem with football, packed to the hilt with testing, but not the likes of Amazon who have thousands of untested staff delivering to homes throughput the country.
