Don't Liverpool want to replace Firmino with Timo Werner anyway?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do they? First I've heard that. Where did you hear that from?
Top 5 in their position in world (Europe really) football, but having a benchmark of 5 means real quality players miss out.

I've always thought of Firmino as a player who does the donkey work for Salah and Mane. I don't think you need to be a great player to play his role.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes but that's because you don't understand football.
Liverpool definitely have been chasing Werner

Just my opinion man. I think if you take Firmino out and put in Lewandowski, then that elevates Liverpool into a World Class team.

Firmino is a very good player who fits Liverpool wonderfully and I know that game isn't all about stats but he would need to score and assist more to be world class and he's almost gone backwards this season in that sense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Firmino is probably the only forward in the world not judged on his goal contributions.
He's taken the 3rd most shots on goal in the league (87) and has also missed the most chances.
The recent success at Liverpool has seen almost everyone of their players dubbed world class.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah. Not to replace Firmino though
Who else is he replacing?
Nobody. We need more quality options in attack and he would provide that.
I think he'd bench Firmino, its pretty obvious.
The four players would be rotated. We play a lot of games so they will all get a lot of game time.

I think Liverpool are already a world class team being European and World Champions and on the way to a PL title, 25 points ahead of the pretenders.

Ok, who gets rotated more in that scenario though, Firmino or Salah? Firmino or Mane?
Obviously Firmino will play the least if werner signs.

Nope. Firmino is the most important player out of the three. I would say Salah and Mane would be rotated more. If Salah, Mane would move right. This is why Werner is the perfect fit, it would mean all four attackers get a large amount of games and are covered for rests, injuries etc.

No? What would make them a world class team? Winning the CL?
I don't think City are good enough to win the CL this season.
I’d say top 5 in their position depending on the position ok the whole.
Alisson
Ederson
DDG (unsure)
TAA
VVD
Laporte
KDB
Mane
Kane
Are probably the only ones I could say for definite. Then you have Salah, Kante, Sterling in the arguable column.
Then there is ‘truly world class’ who is a player who would get into every team in the world. The only current PL player like that is KDB.

I don't think it's that simple.
A key part of Firmino's permanent role in the Liverpool juggernaut is how he's also managed to keep himself freakishly fit while playing in a very physical league.
The past 3 seasons have only seen him miss about 6 games according to Transfermarkt.
