It depends. Your midfield plays a very different role to the Liverpool midfield tactically. I would say maybe Maguire in for Matip, and possibly a prime Pogba in for Wijnaldum but that's about it. And I don't think that Pogba or Maguire would suit the way Liverpool play.

I disagree with you on your last point, I don't see the hype in Henderson to be honest, I mean, He's been nowhere near the best player in the Premier League this season, De Bruyne has.

6 months ago i would have agreed but Fred has come on leaps and bounds for Utd this season, dont let his very poor start blinker that.

player for player Utd have the superior midfield, I dont think there is much doubt about that.
having said that Liverpools midfield suits their system and the way they play very well, and for me I dont think Utds midfield would suit Liverpools style of play so would probably hinder them more than help.

yeah thats a good point Baz, he really would.

the guy is a grafter who would suit liverpools high tempo but also has some decent ability.

Fred would also suit them very well, last season he recovered possession more than any other player i believe in the PL, and with Liverpool pressing from the front and looking to gain possession at the earliest chance, he could do well

Not a chance, I'm sorry, And I'm not being biased, No way Henderson is better than Fred.

A more interesting question for me is: where would the respective teams be if the current United squad had been managed by Klopp for the last four years, and the current Liverpool squad by Mourinho, followed by Solskjaer?

I don't wish to denigrate Liverpool's players - they have some exceptionally talented ones - but I think Klopp is their number one asset. Do the managerial switcheroo and I think United would be ahead of Liverpool. Not by the same margin that Liverpool enjoys today, because the Liverpool squad is more coherent (again, thanks to Klopp) and obviously suits Klopp's tactical approach better than the United squad would.

Fred has been one of the most improved players in the Pl this season, a view shared by pundits and fans alike

Matth, Fred is doing okay compared to how he did before but Henderson is a better player. He’s a very important part of the best team in the country.

If you must champion a united player who could get into that midfield try Bruno. He’s class and I’m sure you’ll find the more objective Liverpool fans agreeing more with the inclusion of Bruno than Fred
