Bolton in league two for only the 2nd time in their history after 2 relegation's in 2 seasons both of which the club did not fulfill their fixtures, both for differing reasons. A new manager to appoint after keith hills departure and a retained list to be announced this week should be plenty to talk about. At least this summer we are not in administration and going into the season with -12 points. Theres always something. Covid19 and when will we be able to start going to matches again. I will keep the comings and goings updated on the top page.
I've a feeling I'm not going to know who any of our new signings for next season are.
I've no doubt it'll be the ususal mix of rejects with a smattering of young non league prospects.
I didn't know that many who signed last summer and last January but I'm not well up on league one or two. Looking at what we have is a very young squad oldest Delaney and Edwards 23 similar to what was getting beat 5-0 at the start of the season. Badly need some experienced pros to add to it. Also apart from Crawford I don't want to keep any of the players whose contracts expire. I expect them all to go and leave room for the new boss to bring in his own men that's unless Phoenix is doing it.
Who's attending for a job interview this week
Retained list due
Leroy Lita should have been mentioned by now
Doris's PPE and trolley cleaning routine is worthy of a mention as there's been a lot of confusion over orders due to the full chemical warfare attire she's wearing and the biscuits have an unusual taste very similar to Dettol multi surface cleaner.
Ian evatt is now 4/6 favourite, Sol Campbell 7/4. Ryan Lowe drifted out to 9/1 and no one else in sight now.
I haven't been following any of the three contenders careers in management so I don't have a favourite If you have a favourite or would like someone else please share.
Mr Foreigner could make a late run if he can get a flight or ferry this week.
If Mr.Foreigner is invited for an interview, he will need to quarantine for two weeks. He could be offered a room at the Hotel but he would still be in lockdown. Maybe Zoom Skype or some other techy medium could be employed as a tool for conducting an interview.
For the the record according to the Ben Michael Jolley, Steven Reid and David Lee have been interviewed today. Paul Heckinbottom has applied for the job. All fred agents, can't say I'm thrilled by any and if that is the way we are going we might as well give it to David Lee.
Plenty of time to get that bloke from the movie industry.

Benny, there will be other entering the arena today. Don't lose heart just yet. Personally I would go for an experienced manager if we can afford one, Reid and other without a lot of managerial experience would possibly be a mistake.
We need someone who will be able to take command of the squad, be tactical adept, and also someone who has good contacts in the higher leagues. We are going to need some decent players and an experienced manager will know where to look.
Am correct in thinking the BEN haven't got a man with a stubby pencil and notebook at the ground.
Well if this is round one of interviews I'd like to see what round 2 looks like.
Out of the first set only David Lee appeals.
Right I'm going for it big time.
50p on Mr Anonymous the one who hasn't had a mention anywhere yet he has a get out of contract for free card.
The ramblings of a player that let the club, the fans and himself down.
“Bolton Wanderers – they are basically dead and I am so sorry about that,” he said. “When you sign Campo, Hierro, Anelka, Djorkaeff and give Kevin Nolan 100,000 (sic) per week it's normal to fall into debt.
Who is the cretin that wrote those lines? No other than the reviled Sasa Curcic. As far as I'm concerned, we are alive and kicking. You might have guessed although he was a decent player I have no time for someone who thought himself to be above our club.
The club treated him well, even bringing his father over to the UK and he treated as fools. He's not a man who commands any respect.
Barrow are saying that if we want their manager, we must pay all the compo in one go. Will we go for him or look elsewhere?
What a conundrum
Pay compo to get a new person in knowing if you get it wrong and have to pay up contracts you are looking at being near a million down on what you have today and likely to be in danger in the lower reaches of the league.
Why does football pay up contracts for managers who fail ?
Anybody want the job on a 3 or 6 month rolling contract to start with see how they go.
My Question is, can David Lee make the step up?
That should have come up in the interview!
Can we afford Jimmy Phillips & Julian Darby to assist,
And are they deemed qualified to take the next step up.
It has to be the only option with the cash we have available, and would they except the job on a 3 monthly rolling contract.
Big questions, need Big Answers.
Maybe Julian Darby should be the one given a chance at being boss he's been 1st team coach at 5 different clubs with at lest 3 different managers whereas DL has been stuck in Bolton for all his coaching career.
Are we splashing the cash then ? Evatt odds have gone mad after Sky say the jobs his but Barrow say the compo starting bid is double.
It's evatt, anyone can walk from a job,it's legal,no real compo if any one years salary which should not be over 40k
Time to sit back and wait let the local rag build it all up until we speak with Evatt and he says yes then sorted out all the legal stuff anything could happen at this stage.
Knowing our luck ........
Salary caps on players wages, new manager, compensation, retained list, building a new squad, and possibly a plethora of other items that need sorting.
Someone is going to be extremely busy over the next six weeks. I wish them luck. It really has to be a total rebuilding program.
The interview room is in use but no arrival from Barrow yet.
He sounds a decent prospect but we might have thought that about some past managers, Coyleand that fella who went to Sunderland. Only time will tell, that is if we get him.
Been a bit busy the last 2 days. Any white smoke yet?
