Apex Legends bruddah!

Seriously though, for me it would be Red Dead Redemption.

Nioh, too hard. Miles too hard, and that’s as a souls veteran. Sekiro was even worse, didn’t even get half way on either of them.

Yes my gaming days are coming to an end. So I really don't buy too many games these days. TLOU2 was a must buy for me, and for me a graphically stunning game.

Ghost of Tshushima, is on the same sort of level, just prettier than the dark wotld of TLOU2, both are excellent.

I don't buy too many games, but I must admit Tshushima has caught my eye, and I know a lot of people are loving it, faster selling than TLOU2, which is quite an achievement.

Cant really add much because I haven't played it, but I can leave this.

It is not a spoiler. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQMB3GwUoQ8

Still yet to pick up Sekiro! It was between that and Ghost, however, as Sekiro has pretty much refused to budge in price, thought I'd get a brand new game if I was going to be spending ~£50.

Definitely next on my list after this.

I think the difficulty is indicative of playstyles, though, as I think I found Bloodborne and DS III harder than Nioh (ironic, as remember DSI feeling impossible on my first play through, but did the remaster very recently and found it much easier).

The hardest boss in Nioh for me was undoubtedly that stupid giant blob thing - Um Bozu or something - and that was because I had no idea about lighting the fires to stop his little mini-bozus sprouting!

DSIII, comparatively, had me stuck many a time. Dragonslayer Armour killed me AT LEAST 30 times. The Princes a good 20. The Pontiff and the Dancer, supposedly two of the hardest, didn't give me much difficulty at all.

I normally play as a Pyromancer or warrior; would like to play through as a mage one day

I loved the first one, Amiga, but was a bit reluctant to get Part 2 as I was (still am) worried that ND got swallowed up by the whole 'woke' culture. Will definitely pick it up one day.

Also find it ridiculous that it got criticism for being too violent. It's quite literally a game about a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by mutated, psycho humanoids and low-life scavengers. At times I feel like some people simply don't want to accept the consequences of reality anymore. #HugAClicker

Yes I and many others loved the first one, which is why it was a day one purchase.

The story is what it is, and Naughty Dog certainly gambled, and probably lost. because it stomps all over the originals story. But if you look past the original, there is a lot of quality in TLOU2.

I didn't hate the game, but it is not the game I wanted, but not everything comes wrapped in a bow, so I can accept it for what it is.

As for woke, people are making it a far bigger deal than it actually is. But to be fair I'm as open minded as they come, So they can be as woke as they want, It wouldn't bother me.

The bigger issue for me at the moment is whether to buy Tsushima?

posted on 29/7/20

I would say that it depends on your back catalogue at the moment.

For example, Nioh is available for £14 or something at the moment and, though vastly different, can provide that Samurai fix. I really did enjoy the game (still not a patch on Souls, for me).

I would 100% recommend getting Tsushima at some point, but if you have some other games lined up, it'd be reasonable to wait for a price drop just before the time of the PS5 launch (late November, it's looking like).

It's honestly worth it just for the scenery and combat. Apparently, a lot of the story / lore is based on factual samurai history as well, which is always a nice touch for history geeks like me (though, I cannot attest to verifying that claim!).

I will come back in a couple weeks' time when I've completed it to give you a more definitive answer

Cheers rooney look forward to your thoughts. Got to say as much as I enjoyed the Souls games, I just don't have the patience needed for them anymore, So Nio has no chance.

To be honest even Tsushima, as good as it looks, maybe isn't going to grab me, not because it is a bad game, but I no longer seem to have the patience to game in general.

It’s a beautiful game, I am finding some of the side missions a bit tedious though.

the pontiff was a right pita, killed me hundreds, and the abyss watchers, wicked fights though. Love the souls games.

Nioh I got to the fight on the sinking ship and gave up if I’m thinking of the right hand. Just remember it being too hard. Sekiro was very good but it was super tough, hardly made any progress.

Most souls games are hard but I made it through them without massive difficulty not so those other two!

I think dark souls 1 is still my favorite game ever.

Fancy the Demon's souls remaster on the PS5 Baz?

It was my first souls game, and a classic if you haven't played it. PS5 seems like a decent upgrade.

Be a long while before I buy a ps5, but when I do- that will likely be one of the first 3 games I play on it.

Ive heard that GoT starts okay, however there is a real problem with the repetitiveness of the sidequests.

i couldnt get into Nioh.. it was free on the ps4 a couple months back - gave it a two hour play and it didnt grab me at all.

the again neither have any of the dark souls game.

bloodborne on the other hand, i absolutely loved.

ive also got ghost and find it a tad boring but my nephew is in love with the game so are a couple of my mates..

i am a big fifa 20 ultimate team player though so what do i know?

I think I'd agree with you on DS1, though, its very close between that and Bloodborne.

Always felt the latter part of DS1 let it down (catacombs, tomb of the giants, that demon pit and then Izalith)

Have you played DSII? I start Scholar of the First Sin recently and couldn't finish it, after it being such a departure / let down from the others; I hear it has its fans, though, so I may be tempted back in

I really liked izilath thought it was a brilliant stand out level, though I agree on tomb of giants. Coming into anor londo was spectacular too, as was the boss fight. Worst level was the poison swamp place, that was annoying.

Did play ds2, I didn’t mind it so much, though it just didn’t come anywhere near the first, still enjoyable. Bloodborne was superb. Loved the way that the start was one of the hardest parts in the game, and after you got through that it became a bit ( !) easier, level design was stunning.

I’d rank :
Ds1 (just loved the level design)
Bb
Ds3
Ds2
Sekiro

Yet to play demon souls.

Really hope they make a Bloodborne 2. I heard they were making something at the moment which *may* be a successor to bb.

Blighttown! Forgot about that nightmare...

I'd agree with your rankings bar Sekiro, which I've yet to play. Also never played Demon's Souls, so buzzing for that on PS5 and really hope its a launch title.

Re BB2, I'd imagine they'll make it given the critical and relative commercial success of the first.

At the moment, they're making a game called Elden Ring. No news on when it's going to be released, but they got George RR Martin to write some of the history and lore to the game! I think there's a trailer knocking about

That’s the one I was thinking of! Played Witcher 3 recently which was a great game, really good, but it couldn’t do combat like souls games, no one can.

Looks interesting that elder ring, not sure I’ll be purchasing a ps5 any time soon, but when I eventually do that and the demon souls remake will be right up there on my list.

Just realised it’s PS4 the Elden ring, tempted to slap that in as a pre order, something I rarely ever do

This to me shows the value of Playstation. The sheer variety of gaming on offers, means everyone is catered for, and they are not afraid to innovate and create new gaming experiences.

Ole, would recommend giving VaatiVidya a watch on youtube if you haven't already. Covers all things SoulsBorne and goes into the lore and hidden secrets in the games
