There seem to be a lot of idiots writing us off for next season due to having a poor squad. It seems they're not taking into consideration that there is a transfer window before the season begins

We will not be playing the majority of our league games on Sundays or Monday evenings next season or any of our Euro games on Thursday night so I can't see the problem.
############

No now you will be playing Saturday - Tuesday - Saturday, bottom line being you will still be playing twice a week.

Whatsmore, there's not a great deal of difference between the like of Lech Poznan or Salzburg and Bate Borisov or Melalist IMO.

Correct, but you will be seeded in the 3rd pot which means you will draw atleast 1 big team in the group stage who will be vastly superior to the above mentioned teams, and one second tier team who will be of a much higher quality to the above mentioned sides. Then if you progress you will only be playing elite level teams.

You said yourself earlier you only really had 18 decent players last year, and Tevez is off meaning more disruption to your squad. Spurs and everton were unable to maintain top 4 finishes and CL campaigns, Citeh have an advantage over those teams with tyheir money, but personally i think they will struggle IMO

Between January 30th and April 3nd we played 15 games, that is a game every 3/4 days over a 9 week period.

Liverpool seem to have a very clear transfer strategy in place, buying young players to build for the future. In the long term this is sound and pool fans in 2-3 seasons im sure will have alot to celebrate. In the short term unless FSG are willing to supplement the funds for young players with substantial funds for proven quality mature players (£100m+) then Kenny has his work cut out. The defence isn't good enough full stop, tyhe midfield lacks width and creativity, and there is no strength in depth. Suarez has looked very good, but only scored 4 times since he arrived in Jan with Liverpool in the ascendancy , compare that with Van Persie's record over the same period in a team that was imploding and it shows how far behind your club currently are.

Against teams you were superior to. This year you will play alot more "bigger" teams in a shorter space of time, where the physical and mental demands will be huge.

Good luck next year in the Champs league i hope you do the prem league proud.

We don't need to spend over £100m. We're also not just going after youngsters. Our main targets are players who are relatively young that can improve us right now. Henderson may only be 20 but Comolli seems to be under the impression that he can fit in now.

You say the defence isn't good enough and we lack width, well that is exactly my point about the transfer window, we are going to buy players who will improve the defence and add width before the season starts.

And to use Suarez's goal tally since January as a bad point is a bit ridiculous. He is absolutely brimming with creativity and flair and has set up plenty of goals. He'll score a fair few each season but he will set up a lot more, and I'm happy with that.

Who? We will play 6 CL group games like everyone else before Christmas and only one of our opponents are going to be a 'Big Name'. If we had been in the CL last season and had, had United's draw I'm quite confident we would have got to the SF at least.

Utd wil be top 4
So will Chelsea

Rest is up for grabs.

Benzema - benchwarmer
Mata - overrated and overpriced
Sanchez - won't come to england
Neymar - good player, but wait til it gets cold....brazil + prem rarely mix. probs why he's not been signed yet.

Never understood the fuss about Benzema.

Yes but you wont get a group like Uniteds will you, they were a top seed, You will be a 3rd seed. The second seed in uniteds group - Valencia would be a big step up from any team you played in europe next year especially away from home. Factor in you will draw in the group stages one of Barca,AC,Real,Inter,Bayern and it is unlikely you will win your group an United did last year, meaning you will face a group winner not from your own country in the first knock out round likely to be one of Barca,AC,Real,Inter,Bayern

Hiddink . Doesnt matter who our manager is. We'll still challenge.

Oh yes you can with young Terry and Lampard and also Torres.

Out of interest who do you think Pool will be able to bring in - realistically - that will improve you sufficiently in one season to bridge the gap between yourselves and the top 4 without spending another £80m.

Oh and Van persie provided more assists in that time period aswell despite not being fully match fit to begin with.

Not worried who we get, trying to win the title will be the main priority, Mancini and some of the players have already stated that.

I'm happy with the players we are going for. Dann and Clichy would add depth to our defence and N'Zogbia or Downing would add some width.

It's clear to see that the only way is up for us. Hicks and Gillett and Hodgson were the reason that we weren't realistically in the mix for the top four last season. Since Dalglish came in our form was that of a club that should be challenging for top four, and I expect more of the same next season.

And I see you're still knocking Suarez, who has been fantastic since he came in. That's fine with me, I'm very happy we've got him though because he is unstoppable on his day (and most of the time it is his day).

Trust me, you dont want clichy, he'l only bring a losing mentality to your team. You want a good left back? Coentrão

Dalglish will drill a winning mentality into anyone who walks through the Anfield door

posted on 11/6/11

Doubt it fella, Clichy's been part of a spineless team for years. Pretty hard to shake that off but if anyone can do it, Kenny can.

posted on 11/6/11

Let suppose you got all those players that would leave you with a team looking like

Reina
Johnson Carra Dann Clichy

Henderson Lucas Gerrard Nzogbia

Suarez Carrol

#################

The defence still looks awful, the midfield will be stronger but wouldn't compare to fifth place spurs midfield of

Lennon Modric Sandro Bale

let alone any of the other top 4 teams. You will still lack strength in depth.

Im not knocking Suarez at all he is very good. I am merely pointing out how his stats stacked up against a striker who played for the team who finished 4th last year - you know one of the teams your wanting to displace
