So Steve is Sandys other account?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope, sorry to disappoint. I just post how I feel. Not looking for everyone to agree. Although if you can't see the injustice of this, you are blind.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You actually are Sandy tho...

Fa cup winner > 6th

League cup winner > 6th
----------------------------------------------------------------------

FA Cup winners better than 3rd.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah would probably rather win a trophy. Still I’ll take champions league

I don't get the article tbh.

Of course winning the countries national cup competition supercedes winning less than half your league games and indeed getting beaten 11 times.

Like, that's obvious isn't it?

This stinks of bitterness...lemons all over it

If you don't want to play in the Euromick, just pull out & let one of your non top four near rivals play
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Who said anything about not wanting to play in the competition, the OP is merely pointing out the faults in the qualififying process. Get a grip fella.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You should have thought about that during the season...& made a better fist of qualifying for the CL

FA Cup is mick like the league cup now...nice trinket but otherwise - meh

Not saying i wouldn't have liked it yesterday...but it wasn't our day, & no biggie...unlike 4th place

If anybody needs any further proof of what a farce finishing this season off is then the Timo Werner situation provides it.

Apparently he was at Wembley yesterday and when I heard that I thought thats weird as surely he should be at Leipzig training for their last 8 cl game.

I investigated the situation and discovered that he will not be playing for Leipzig again. Surely the rules should ensure that the players who were at each club from January onwards remain there until their 19/20 season is over.

The first time Leipzig have made the last 8 of Europes top competition and their top boy has gone meaning a huge advantage for whoever they play next. Why bother completing the thing when the integrity of it has been totally destroyed?

posted on 2/8/20

That was already said in June.. not exactly newsworthy.

Maybe Chelsea paid more to have him effectively end the season and get this, Leipzig agreed.

If a competitions integrity is destroyed by clubs not having the same squad at the end as the start then every seasons integrity ever has been destroyed.

Sorry if its not newsworthy enough for you but one things for sure its a disgrace, imagine helping your team get to that point in the competition and then walking away.

It doesn't say much for his character as its a shocking way to treat Leipzig fans and his former team mates.

I put January.

UEFA should have insisted he completed this season before moving.

But what is the difference between a team losing a player for the last 16 and the quarters? Those two legs really make a difference to the integrity of the competition?

Players move clubs inbetween competitions all the time.

Even spurs sign players in the January window.

Leipzig have had him available for selection against every other team they've played against in the 19/20 cl competition so thats how it should remain until they are eliminated or win it.

The point is they are in the last 8.

In January the competition won't have progressed that far.

Why?

In fact it's only the addage of transfer windows that's maki you think this surely?

1 round.

Is it something to do with the fact that it was Spurs in that round by any chance PB?

posted on 2/8/20

It is okay for a player to play 6 games then move, but another 2 and it destroys the competitions integrity?
Doesn't really add up tbh.

posted on 2/8/20

Had it not been for the virus break he would of seen out Leipzigs cl involvement to the end.

So if the competition is to restart that should still apply, otherwise its not true to the 19/20 tournament and therefore pointless.

I don’t know why people get so hung up on the integrity of the competition. It’s not actually that important.

One mans meat is another mans poison.

It doesn't matter to you but it does to others.

If you are at a club on Feb 1st then you should not leave until their season is done.

Take for example the last trophy spurs won, the league cup.

Final is in February. about two games from the final is the January window.

Do you think the January window should be scrapped or that players shouldn’t move if they are still involved in the league cup?
Or is it to you a nothing trophy not worthy of consideration in the same way.

Spurs got knocked out by Leipzig.

It’s probably because he’s joining Chelsea with experience of beating Spurs recently already as to why PaulBawron is getting steamed up.
