After observing some absolutely outrageous practices I’ve resolved to be a responsible business owner and have suffered losses during the COVID-19 situation in order to keep staff employed and on full pay.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So why are you trying your best to keep your staff employed and on full pay?

Welshpool, I’ll only say this once; if you go down the road of derailing threads with lies about what I’ve said and done on this forum then I’ll start to ask for your comments to be removed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No lies. All very easily evidenced.

They are lies.
I’ve never tried to tell people what they meant.
The fact that you still think that is what happened is evidence that 1000 comments are a waste of time
- you still don’t understand what happened after having it explained about 20 times.
I won’t be making that mistake again and I won’t be derailing a thread by trying to convince someone who never, ever admits he is wrong.
Take this thread. You tell me that my suggestion that businesses should choose to run at a loss is not viable.
You then admit that it is in some scenarios and so actually, it is entirely viable, just as my own business is done.
Yet you haven’t admitted you were wrong and you’ll squirm your way out of doing so... for 100 pages of necessary.
Maybe you actually convince yourself. Ignorance is bliss, after all.
But I won’t be wasting anymore time on you.

So once again, rather than admit you have absolutely no idea if it is sustainable for Arsenal to run at a loss like you categorically claimed it was, you continue to maintain it as fact.
You have already stated before on this thread that you were done with me and have responded twice more. Another example of you being wrong?

Because I have enough experience of business, and in particular very wealthy business owners, to believe that would be naive.
If this was Mike Ashley at Newcastle, would you be so keen to think he has no option?
I’ve said all along that it’s just my opinion and there’s no way of knowing for sure of course, but I really don’t believe that sacking these staff is the only way Arsenal can survive.

It isnt about survival. As a football club we still have targets to be met.
Do you even know what roles have been made redundant?

And meeting those targets is more important than people’s livelihoods during a global pandemic?
Okay well we’ll have to disagree on that.
And yes, I’ve read up about which roles are affected.

Yes, of course it is. Jobs that are redundant and offer no value to the club shouldnt be carried on for the sake of it.
Go on then, list the roles of the 55 redundancies.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why would I want to do that?
You’re in one of your funny moods so perhaps I’ll just leave you to it.
If you actually have a credible point to make them perhaps we can pick it back up some time.
But clearly we disagree about a business owner’s responsibility at this time and I’m happy with my decisions for my own business, so that’s that.
So you don't know. Would have been easier to say so.
Hard to have sn in-depth discussion on why redundancies were made if you refuse to disclose who you know has been made redundant.
I do know, and refusing to sit here listing the roles affected just because you’ve asked is laughable.
You’re clearly in one of your funny moods DJ and I can’t be bothered.
I guess criticising Arsenal means you’re intent on arguing, whatever the basis for it.
Sadly it’s indicative of the forum as a whole really but hey ho.
Why would you refuse to say what roles are getting made redundant? You have clearly made an opinion based on this knowledge yet dont want to discuss the roles. Either you dont know or you know why those roles are redundant and it doesn't suit your argument.
Oh well, gave you a chance. Goodnight.
Little tip DJ, if you enter a conversation with decency and make a point and ask politely if I’ve considered that point in my reasoning, you’ll find a decent discussion can be had.
If you jump and start demanding I list things without giving any reasoning and announce that if I refuse then I obviously don’t know, you come across as argumentative and no decent discussion will break out.
I suspect this behaviour is too engrained in you because of your time spent on here but hey ho, thought I’d appeal to your better nature.
