Some United fans acted like this when there were rumours of Lingard leaving. But Lingard had actually had some semblance of premier league form and became an England international.

And Lingard is still a Utd player.

Didn't realise people rated him so highly?

Pretty average player, we're not in a good spot right now obviously but for me even that is above his final level.

$20m would be very decent money for him

This is puzzling, especially when you consider we just bought Cedric whom to my opinion is not much that better and is probably on higher wages.

I can understand the comments about him being ‘average’. He’s still much to prove and hasn’t exactly nailed down a place in the team.

However the potential is clearly there with him, and far exceeds the level of a player such as Cedric, who at 29 we know exactly what we’ve got there. Someone mentioned ‘average’?

Wonder if him being put up for sale indicates Arteta is intent on a change of formation next season? AMN has shown he works great as a R / LWB, but admittedly he didn’t really convince (so far) when played in a back four...

He is not the most talented but he could have been our "James Milner"
Completely forgot as well that Cedric was already 29. Again, this signing bearing in mind we signed him injured just doesn't make a feckin sense.

He should appoint Kia as his agent. No way he'd be sold then

Fair enough.

Think he’s being overhyped a little. A lot of the time people have said he’s not good enough, he’s not been consistent when he does get extended periods in the first team, granted it might not be on what he considers his best position. While he does seem to have put his complaining about where he’s being played behind him, maybe he’s still not Fully committed to playing a more defensive role which is probably his best chance of playing for us. So maybe the club decided to sell

Having said that I do like him as a player, and I do find it odd that we’ve signed Cedric long term rather than give him a chance. I’d have like to have seen what he can do next season, then make a decision. But I suppose there’s risk he doesn’t play well or as much, then we can’t sell him for as big fee

Part of our strategy has to be to sell smart and reinvest at the moment. So I hope if he is going we can get more than 20m, then that is used to address our areas of weakness and improve us. If it is then selling him could be a good decision, even if he does become a better player elsewhere

He can slot in anywhere bar striker, goalie and centre back

There's no value in losing a utility player like that for 20m

If AMN will be sold I go nuts. Absolute joke.

Arteta wants to keep him, board decision.

The board can fack off.

If AMN, Torreira and Guendouzi are all sold and they bring in enough to ensure some decent signings, then in the end, sad to lose Ainsley though it might be, it will be understandable.

Might mean we get to sign Ceballos, rather than having him on loan again. We must strengthen our spine over and above that though.

Having said that, choosing between AMN or Cedric and Kola is a no brainer for me.

This is the thing, apart from Partey, we haven't been linked with a midfield who can/could solve our issues.

The problem is that if Arteta is not willing to start AMN then its a good idea to cash in.

At the moment:

LB - Tierney, Kolas
RB - Bellerin, Cedric

And Arteta will not play him in midfield.

Personally I would keep AMN and sell Bellerin. But Arteta loves Bellerin and you wouldn't blame him after that storming run that won us the Cup?

There is nothing at all "average" about a player who can run the ball like he can, play in several different positions and become an olympic sprinter if he felt like it. All whilst still being nowhere near his ceiling. Rather than being average, he is in fact pretty exceptional. When you consider that he's also English, it makes him potentially one of the club's most valuable assets.

20 million is an absolute joke of a price, ffs we're talking about a player who still has the potential to be worth 3 or 4 times that, in one season. The board has no place interfering in this sort of decision. But that said, I hope this finally demonstrates once and for all, to all. That the manager and transfer team are/have been repeatedly hamstrung by KE AND THE BOARD'S REFUSAL to release additional funds to pay transfer fees.

Rumours are afoot that Bellerin could be exiting this summer mate, apparently he wants a new challenge.

Whether that's true or not is anyone's guess but certainly seems possible.

posted on 7/8/20

Selling him for such a low price only benefits the buyer or someone behind the scenes who stands to make money somehow. The squad actually suffers massively. Nobody is going to be dumb enough to sell us a player that good for the 20 mil we get. So we'll need to add money to it to replace him, as well as still needing the players we do now.

If this happens, I think we need to start asking some serious questions about what's going on behind the scenes at AFC. Who exactly is it that profits from this? Because it's damn sure not team or football club.

So over the top. People are talking like he's a mix of Thierry henry, Vieira and VVD.

AMN wasn't trusted by Wenger, Emery or Arteta and I'd wager those 3 know a bit more than most of you who tend to change your mind from game to game on whether someone is terrible or brilliant.

Get a grip AMN is average and will always only be a utility squad player. Get a good price for him and buy someone who will improve us.

posted on 7/8/20

As someone else said previously, Maitland-Niles might want to consider appointing Joorabchian as his agent. We probably wouldn’t be having this debate, were that the case.

You’re right. No need to debate this any further.

Or indeed anything else for that matter.
