I still make City favourites. We don't yet know how Liverpool will react after winning their first league title. They dropped off this season after securing it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But still managed 99 pointsI think we will be ok.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes you won the title with 99 points. Now let's see what Liverpool are like when they have to defend the title. I can still see them maintain a high standard but is it going to be so high that it will win them a league again?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Finished on 97 & 99 points the last two seasons. If you were going to predict any team to maintain a high standard you’d think it’d be us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But you were doing your best to push for your first title, so now you have it in the bag it may be different.
I doubt it's going to be as easy for you next season in terms of the competition. Like when you competed with City all the way in their defence of the title, I wouldn't be surprised to see them or others push you harder this time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Klopp is the type to rest on his laurels
I didn’t say it was going to be easy. However we’ve been the most consistent team in the league the last two seasons so it’s not a daft suggestion we’ll maintain the same standards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You may or you may not. Just putting it out there that it could be different because you are now defending a title. And like I've said, it's not just about what Liverpool do. You'll potentially be coming up against improved challengers.

Saints away. Ings missed an absolute sitter to equalise.
Sheff Utd away. Gifted a goal and missed a sitter late on to equalise.
Chelsea away. Missed sitters to equalise.
Spurs away. Missed 2 sitters to equalise.
United home. Martial missed sitter.
Not saying Liverpool weren’t the better side in any of those games but City were the better side in numerous games they didn’t win.
Liverpool were incredibly efficient all season.
Looking at next season's schedule it will almost certainly come to squad depth. Barely a midweek free all season, which is why I'm surprised there's been little activity from Klopp although a LB to challenge Robertson is a good start. Werner would have been perfect to lighten the load on the front three. Liverpool will be up there if they keep their first Xl fit but you feel Klopp will have to prioritize.
Speaking of which the heavy schedule could open the door for Chelsea to be a dark horse despite their defensive nightmares, they have excellent depth and versatility in midfield and attack, they're best performance of the season came with Pulisic, Abraham, Hudson Odoi, Kante and Kovacic injured.

Correct, we sitters and had key decisions go against us. The difference being that we didn’t rely on those missed sitters and key decisions to go on and win games.
city still have the one thing that most teams don’t have and that’s the ability to progress the ball from their box to the final third of the opposition and create chances.
That’s priceless and other than Liverpool all other teams can’t do it consistently. The challenge City have is a huge Leadership gap and Pep is reeling from the loss of Kompany And Arteta.
Pep is all About tactics and the technical Aspects of the game. He doesn’t know how to handle the human side of things like a Fergie, Wenger, Klopp. Those 2 being away has broken City to an extent.
They will still compete as they have good players and a fine manager but when things don’t go right they crack.
The good thing about next season is that the other top 6 teams namely Arsenal, United, Chelsea and Spurs will at least be harder t beat. Nothing makes me more sick than to see the likes of City, Liverpool turn up at a Top 6 team ground and leave with 3 points easily.
That won’t happen next season. 88 could even win the league next season

Liverpool may also struggle now that VAR has turned its allegiance to Man United.

Most of the key moments went in our favour
You've listed five games and used missed chances as the reason. Every game we didn't win, we had more chances than the opposition, apart from City, when the title was already in the bag, so if that's your criteria for key moments then most of the key moments went against Liverpool.

We also missed sitters to seal these games.

Very selective recall of events their from Process.

Maybe yes. I suppose the point I’m trying to make is that yes you were by far the best and most efficient team but you did have a run up until the Watford game where you momentum and all key moments went your way.

Liverpool may also struggle now that VAR has turned its allegiance to Man United.

I think Liverpool are favourites for next season but the majority of key moments went their way this season.
Not guaranteed to happen next season.

And I’m not disputing that I’m just saying most of the key moments went in your favour which may or may happen next season.

Most of the key moments went in our favour
You've listed five games and used missed chances as the reason. Every game we didn't win, we had more chances than the opposition, apart from City, when the title was already in the bag, so if that's your criteria for key moments then most of the key moments went against Liverpool.
