Liverpool may also struggle now that VAR has turned its allegiance to Man United.

I think Liverpool are favourites for next season but the majority of key moments went their way this season.

Not guaranteed to happen next season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you list those key moments please?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Saints away. Ings missed an absolute sitter to equalise.

Sheff Utd away. Gifted a goal and missed a sitter late on to equalise.

Chelsea away. Missed sitters to equalise.

Spurs away. Missed 2 sitters to equalise.

United home. Martial missed sitter.

Not saying Liverpool weren’t the better side in any of those games but City were the better side in numerous games they didn’t win.

Liverpool were incredibly efficient all season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We also missed sitters to seal these games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And I’m not disputing that I’m just saying most of the key moments went in your favour which may or may happen next season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Most of the key moments went in our favour

You've listed five games and used missed chances as the reason. Every game we didn't win, we had more chances than the opposition, apart from City, when the title was already in the bag, so if that's your criteria for key moments then most of the key moments went against Liverpool.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes but City dominated most games they played and had the most chances.

Liverpool were far the most efficient side but many of their wins were by fine margins.

With the risk of sounded like Hafi if you look at most stats other than the ones that matter City top those.

Not a case of it stopping you, just that it may not be working for you as much.

Anyway, as regards who will challenge Liverpool for the title, considering every other team beyond city finished the season closer to relegation, than they did to the Champions, I'd have to stick with the assertion that finishing above City, should ultimately see Liverpool win the title again next season.
Well see.

No they don't as you're forgetting to look at the defensive side of the game.

Anyhow so what you're effectively saying here is Liverpool won more games because they scored more than the opposition and conceded less than the opposition. You're a genius.

I think people need to remember that City still finished the season with a way higher goal difference than Liverpool and only conceded a couple goals more (despite Liverpool’s supposedly great defence).

Also I think many of Liverpool’s players have been playing beyond their level for a while and the bubble burst eventually even before lockdown.

If you look at the results and performances, Liverpool have been pretty bad since December time. I think losing 5-0 to Villa damaged their mentality slightly.

Still think it’s City’s to lose, but I wouldn’t be surprised if United/Arsenal/Chelsea gave them a run for it. If Arteta gets some good players in, I think Arsenal have a good chance.

I still make City favourites. We don't yet know how Liverpool will react after winning their first league title. They dropped off this season after securing it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We dropped off because we had won it. Next season we will be going again from scratch, and so our approach will be very different.

The only reason we could have a realistic challenger is if City go get Koudabily and spend another £200M on full backs as well..but even then they have to get used to the prem as they are playing games.
===================

City have just thrashed Liverpool 4-0 and could have been even worse, so what bollox are you talking about now?

You get disconnected from reality in bursts dude, are you taking something?

Nobody has mentioned that liverpool are approaching their peak...not even at it yet. City are on the decline and the others nowhere near imo.

For me it's possible that we can have a better prem season.

Liverpool will still be up there but not sure they will have it in them to get near 100 points again, and that may not be enough to win it.

If we get thiago....the German journalists were saying that's it, liverpool will win everything. Just reporting what they are saying...

last season and the season before are meaningless.

all that matters is what happens going forward

we have a top top goal keeper.
we have top full backs and vvd.
I am looking at gomez and he has to improve. hes outrageously talented but outrageously sloppy.
we have plenty of midfielders but need keita to stay fit.
we have 3 forwards and not much cover.

overall we can find a way imo to try win most games but the fixtures I am seeing going into this season are very arduous.

I think we need another forward i just have a feeling we will at some point rue that.
