Trying to be rational after last night and it may taint my point.

However. This season is a washout without fans. I won’t go into the politics but suffice to say they are nonsensical and completely defy the “science” which is compounded by the lack of any explanation at all.

That aside, I just have very little interest in the games now. I wasn’t even that perturbed about last night as just saw it more as a sign of where we are on the wider stage. We don’t belong in the CL any more and no amount of “ah bits” will convince me otherwise.

Should we be fortunate to get the easiest of routes through to qualification (which we are now failing to do with regularity) we all know how it will end up. An embarrassment in half the cases and a mix of maybe one or two wins and what ifs for the rest. Overall a major disappointment. I’m at the point I just wish they’d scrap the notion of us competing for it now.

As for the league; again I have a kind of half interest. I can’t go. It’s unlikely we’ll have a third of capacity by the end of the season so effectively whilst we all knew what we were buying in terms of season ticket renewals I can’t help but feel we’ve been duped to an extent due to the complete lack of a plan or indeed a goal with some sense of timescale. And we’ve yet to head into the winter months which “we’re” all terrified about. So no I can’t see fans being allowed in any number this season at all.

Then there’s watching it in the pub. Waste of fwcking time. No sound and no atmosphere for fear of being thrown out, the pub closed or being fined. No point at all.

So we’re left with watching it at home and seeing players who can’t possibly be performing as they normally would.

All in all I’m pretty meh about the whole thing and struggle to find any interest at all really.

Thoughts?

👍I hate watching games without the fans being present. It must be what East Fife fans feel like all the time.

I haven’t enjoyed any of our games
No crowd was bad enough(and guff imo) the no sound thing in pubs(get a fookin grip nippy) will kill many pubs just allowed to open back up
Of course I’d love ya to win but the “match day experience” is up there with a fortnite at Burnt Island
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They hold no appeal for me really.

It really just isn't the same without the (real - not piped-in dirge) noise of the crowd.

Of course I will continue to watch us but it's just like a behind doors, training game.

There’s maybe something in that ginger. As I only get to 3-4 games a season max I don’t feel in such a position to experience that sort of I should be there feeling but there’ll be a huge number of people feeling same.

Last nighi thought we played well last night

Some good football and a few players really upped their game
Taylor was excellent - a real positive

Like I said earlier it's the flaws that we need to patch
Champions of any country will have something about them
We need to solidify our midfield without the ball-

I need to come back to Scott Brown here ...why is that fcker playing week in week out ?

We have talent, energy and experience in our midfield
He's not required

I thought we could get a result just had a bad feeling g as soon as I heard eddy was out given the issues we had last season when Morgan was up top.

There is only one exciting competition in town right now and it's the JA Predictor League

Too many Rangers fans in the top 10 for my liking this season

I asked this last night?

From another website:

Last 8 Seasons: out in qualifiers 5 times ,actually 6 as they got knocked out twice in same season. Out to Malmo, Legia, Maribor, AEK Athens, Cluj & Ferencvaros.
Qualified three times beating the mighty Shaktar Karagandy, Hapoel Ber Sheeva & Astana to go through. And of those 18 group games they played, they won two only.

is this good enough?

is it just Lennons fault?

is this reality for Scottish teams?

I think Celtics budget is bigger than a lot of clubs they are likely to meet in the qualifiers so is recruitment the real issue?

am I the only person on this site that believed Celtic would get a result and therefore the only real Celtic supporter on here?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

My belief now is that CL is just way beyond the reality of Scottish clubs.

We simply are not anywhere good enough across the board and that’s from players to management to recruitment.

Always makes me laugh when Celtic fans claim they would be major force on a premier league budget and then crash out at home to some Hungarian paupers
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry but that comment doesnt actually make any sense.
If you believe it you're a fackin idiot and if its a wind up you should give it up and leave it to posters who know what they are doing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which part doesn’t make sense to you?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well.. the simple fact that your two comments are completely unrelated except in your tiny mind.

Would Celtic do better and have a better team if they were in the Premier League? Almost certainly.

Does the fact that Celtic, playing in a poor Scottish league, just lost to a team from Hungary in a one-off match change that?

You've joined two points that are unrelated.

How would Arsenal do if you were transported into the Scottish league. You'd be an Aberdeen, fading to a Hamilton then sinking to liquidation and obscurity.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s not a one of though is it

AEK Athens, FC Sion, Copenhagen, Cluj, all teams on smaller budgets that have knocked Celtic out of Europe in recent memory.

Ferencavos’ club record transfer is €400k.

So Celtic fans can’t keep going on their budget holding them back when it’s clear there are fundamental reasons behind your continuous embarrassing exits in Europe.

Rangers in one season in Europe have done more than Celtic in the last 5 years or longer. You really cant argue with any of that
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What are these fundamental reasons you refer to.

Earlier you didnt seem to know that we had lost last night. Now you seem to have an advanced understanding of our European results.

Im looking forward to your detailed explanation.

Then we might talk about the comparison between Rangers and Celtic.

Just a clue on that. How many coefficient points did Rangers get last season compared to how many Celtic have collected in the past five years.

Dont worry call sign, I cannot talk for miller but myself being top just now.
I going to be the hibs of the predictor league.
Up top at the moment but really hoping for a top 5 finish.😀

Is there a danger of his “ legendary” status being eroded?
This is a must win season in league for you so the pressure from fans will be immense
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm certainly not comparing them but you can see why Eric Cantona bowed out when he had years left in him. Same with Zidane to a certain extent. They wanted to be remembered for their prowess and not fading away.

I was championing Brown for one more year and get annoyed when people write him off but I find I am in the same camp as them now. Keep him as if we do get the 10 he deserves to be Captain for it but it needs to be his last season and be a bit part player

Also this thing about a “must win” season.

Total nonsense in my book. What happens if we lose it?

We get a new manager and the wum season is open for all bears until we win it again.

That’s it.

It's funny all these teams Barry fry said were after toney have yet to show up.
If eddy happens to go could he be brought in as the replacement.

When you see other managers like Rodgers making subs telling players tactics and trying to shuffle to counter what the other team is doing then you have lennon clapping his hands and saying 'intae them'

Reminded me of Graham Murty

I think half time came too soon as we were on top and also the lack of crowd swayed the ref as the hungarian dug out were roaring for every decision.

posted on 27/8/20

I’d imagine that’s the plan. It feels really reactive and stuff but also don’t really like the thought of strachans son being given a top coaching role on the face of it. Seems a bit jobs for the boys, at least Duff has that rep of top player.

Christie to fair does seem to get a good percentage on target.
He always looking for a strike.
Something rangers players dont do as much

Peterborough have just signed a striker, I would imagine Toney is for the off soon, I had hopes we would get him this season and have him as our succession plan for Edouard leaving next season, I fear neither will happen now.
