He didn't manage Gerrard. Fergie could've listed 20 names of players he managed and claimed he they were world class but didn't. He picked 4.
Epitomises everything I believe, PL players are deemed world class based on their league form, not at the highest level and most are massively over rated.
Love to see how Rio or Vidic felt about that statement. Kinda hard to argue against what fergie said if he saw them for years, on a daily basis. Its not like that statement wouldve caused peolle to run iut and buy the book!
World class is thrown around way too much and I think Rio is the perfect example of that.

Immense player.
It’s pretty uncontroversial I think to state that he’s the primary reason why Liverpool have the best defensive unit in the country.
One of the best attacks in PL history, and one of the best back fives for me. If they had a midfield, they’d be a frightening proposition.
