Depends how good they are at their job.

This is it.

If I was Man U fan I’d think Best move is to fire ole ASAP, you’ve got a decent squad and pretty much any other premier league manager could do better than him. If he never played for you, you’d have all laughed at prospect of him managing you. He’s probably only a slightly better Paul Merson or Chris kamara

Doesn’t really matter who comes in though, does it?

They’ll get 18 or 24mths, then the wheel will spin again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well yeah; if they’re shiiiiit, they’re more likely to get 18 than 24

Nobody is competing with City and Liverpool, let’s be honest with ourselves.

You know it goes deeper than that.

If any United fan can honestly, hand on heart say that Ole is the best man for the job then I would question that.

Nobody has ever said that, Robb.

Ole wouldn’t even say that.

I’m frankly amazed that people still think that this board will a) start making sensible strategic football decisions, and b) follow through with a strategy for long enough to see it succeed.

Time for Roy Keane to come in and take charge at United, He would insist on the standards

Fack me, we’re a big enough mess already without getting that clown involved

Stick with him, Jose had a point to prove and just wanted it more. You have a manager that truly loves the club. Apart from Giggs, I could not think of a better appointment?

the issue is that if we fire ole tonight, the same clueless executives, with zero football backgrounds between them, will be hiring the next guy, and in charge of transfers.

fire ed tonight, bring in a new CEO and a proper DOF (ie not just darren fletcher, because he used to play for us), and let them find a new manager for next season, no problem with that.

without the major changes required, simply firing the manager will achieve something, but not that much.

I think it’ll need to get a lot worse to get better, to be honest.

But if the next manager is good at their job they can keep it for longer even if they aren’t.

Man United haven’t finished in the top four for two consecutive seasons since Fergie retired.

The standards really don’t need to be that high.

Despite having Levy, who while not the same as the Glazers, comes with his own challenges, Poch did a very good job there. Not only in terms of a style of football but got Spurs (yes Spurs!) punching above their weight.

In the absence of Ed leaving, it would surely be better to have a manager who can get the very best out of lesser players. The side that put 6 past us today - he built that.

Evra’s fuming. Wants to quit Sky because they keep putting him on United games.

Spot on...

If we did that and Ole is still struggling, no one is gonna sit crying at his departure. Those of us that are not clamouring for a new manager do so because we are clinging on for ANY kind of structure at the club and Ole was looking to be bringing that, to some degree.

_____________

Were they really punching above their weight? Spurs had some excellent players in 2016 and still finished third when Leicester won it and all the traditional "big clubs" were half-asleep. CL final, yes, but you sometimes get that in cups.

Like I've said, I've nothing against him at all but I don't know if he's done vastly better than Solskjaer really.
