Last time I was in a pub was the 22nd of February. When they have been open I was of the mind that just because they were open it didn't mean I had to go. Likewise when non essential retail reopened I was of the same opinion.
I'm not saying that was right and others were wrong but I do think we all need to take some personal responsibility, even if you are not scared of the virus think of what the consequences of some of your actions could have on others.
Wear a mask when required, wash your hands regularly, keep your distance from others and reduce your social contacts. It is literally in our own hands and if want to go back to some sort of normality pre vaccine stick to what we know to be effective.

Wee bit moralising mate
Last time I was in a pub was when it was open and I wasn’t working
We are what we are
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed - me & the missus made a conscious decision to eat out more when it reopened to make up for the losses - we thought through the consequences of our actions - that's why we went - everywhere we were was excellent - rules, distancing, cleaning etc. We cut it right back during eat out to help out - went on the weekends and it was quiet. Daughter was working the eat out nights and it was carnage - Sunak got the balance wrong.
I disagree BB - we can do all this and there is ZERO guarantee we go back to normality quicker. Experts keep telling us the vaccines may not work. What then?

the problem is people, give an inch and they take a mile and when there is further restrictions as a result of this people point the finger at the government.
many of whom are the same ppl not following guidance.

Thanks for that.

I didn't mean it to come across that way Zach. I have no doubt you mostly or fully stuck to the guidelines.
When the pubs reopened here I had mates that went on it and posted photos of themselves down the local with no social distancing, they actually put up a group photo with their arms on each others shoulders. These are normally responsible guys. I can only imagine what other folk were up to.
Silver, of course there is ZERO guarantee but imo it was effective.. When bars/restaurants reopened here the numbers went up. We are social animals and with alcohol some inhibition goes out the window. Of course im not saying they were solely or even mostly responsible they weren't but they played a part imo.

How would you know if you weren't out?
Press? Eager with faux outrage?
Everywhere I've been has been a model of covid decorum. Yes, there are isolated places it is out of control. Plod knows where. Gov knows where. But, just like the polis refusal to wade in when there's trouble at the football they turn a blind eye so the bams know they have carte blanche.
I still maintain that nobody but nobody is taking a peek behind the curtain that has a sign on it saying “Collateral damage”.
Millions of death notices are being inadvertently signed off the more and more we “lockdown” and that will be truly exponential. Of that there is no doubt.
Instead we are being force fed this unsubstantiated piish of 2m dead (didn’t happen and never will) to the latest “hundreds of thousands more deaths” rubbish. All based on flawed projections of numbers that can’t even be substantiated and are proven inaccurate day after day.
When the fwck will these government waken up and admit they’ve got it wrong?

I’ve been to pubs and restaurants pretty much all the way through this when they were open for business. Never felt safer throughout this other than when everyone had to get up and get out at 10 on Saturday night.
So she closes pubs. Brilliant. What on earth does she think will happen then? All those house parties and visits she says are causing this peak. Fwcking moronic thought process.

Im fed up hearing how this is affecting younger people more than anyone else. Its the younger people who are going around without face coverings, its the younger people having the gaff parties, its the younger people gathering in groups, its the younger people going on the pash as if we were living in normal times. If it was the other way around the older folk would be doing every thing they could to protect the younger people.
FFS 17/18 year olds were sent to war. These are asked to sit in their house playing Playstation or watch Netflix and from what I can see a huge amount are incapable.
