The flu is a type of coronavirus not the other way round
If you ask me the problem we're in is because we didn't go hard and act fast, now we're on catch up and much worse affected than any other country
We're not going to get out of this mess but letting it run its course I'm afraid
Also it has long term negative effects for plenty of otherwise healthy people, it's not just the vulnerable at risk
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But going back and forth between "open and close" with the entire country is going to be the way to resolve it because that seems to be the way we are going about our business at the moment.
The problem is misperception if you ask me. It's as if the public and the government are surprised that figures have gone up since they have opened more placed up and more testing has become available. There is no sense of perception, its all just "once it hits a certain figure lets act".
Its been wrong from the start and it has continued to be and it seems as if this will continue even further as well.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who did play Bruce Willis in Armageddon then?
Because Bruce Willis was busy playing Harry Stamper
Praying for a vaccine and a non Tory govt
We can’t let it run it’s course but there has to be better ways of protecting the vulnerable whilst keeping society going and that I’m afraid means splitting it down by age and health. Peoples GP’s should be able to tell their patients what they need to do and more importantly what not to do and it should be financially supported.
The rest of us use track and trace, maintain distance and wash hands and face and sanitise but then let the country get to work.
Of the many billions poured into non existent jobs or being taken fraudulently while the same can is being continually kicked down the road whilst the lights get switched on and off; what real purpose and protection could it have given those who really need it? There are tens of outliers at most but it’s still the elderly and those with serious underlying medical conditions who are most at risk. Instead we now place everyone at risk.
But no. That notion was bulleted right from start. Fwcking idiots.
I don't know how much power, influence and control Holyrood has when it comes to this but IMO a lot of the problem we're facing in the rest of UK is a govt and cabinet brought in on one issue and employed through loyalty alone.
Can't really expect them to be good in a crisis or honest or hands on or accountable or

Every metric set against the SNP has resulted in a downward performance other than voter loyalty and now they mire themselves in secrecy and a blatant refusal to assist in an enquiry into their behaviour.

people are f...ing idiots mate you can't even get some to wear a mask.
a former poster on here said on twitter that people will just get drinks and go to house parties anyway, these are the very people we are asking to be responsible in a pub.
u don't let stupidity dictate policy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How is ishy?
Agree - there are minority sections of society that will not comply. They have no incentive. Moved from drinking in at least some semblance of controlled environment to a wholly uncontrolled one. As usual the law abiding pay for everyone else's demeanours whilst they sit in their house drinking going haw-haw talnkaboot.
“u don't let stupidity dictate policy”.
Yet here we are.
Our cleaners are also doing one of the track and trace call centres. One got the message he was to isolate. He called them up and he was supposed to have been in a pub in Buckie. When he assured them not and told them he'd been in cleaning their office every day they said yeah, about 30% of people are giving false names and / or numbers.
Heard about a pub that took the name and number on a tablet outside, go in the door met by another bouncer on his phone saying please answer. What? I'm calling the number you just gave. Eh... Beat it, gents.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any more idiotic, they manage to.
What on earth is this meant to achieve as it will drive anyone wanting a beer with a mate to meet on one or the others house. Pubs and restaurants are probably the cleanest they’ve ever been and likely far safer than homes.

Then that’s the issue.
It’s irrespective of what any government does, the people who CHOOSE to defy requests, advice and law will keep this going. They’ll keep passing it on until it gets to the elderly and vulnerable.
You can choose not to go to a mate’s house. If you decide not to, then that’s on you. (And I don’t mean you personally, ginger).
Tesco Scotland have added beer to bog roll, sanitiser & pasta list - limited to two slabs.

I don’t disagree but any country anywhere will know and have to take into account any dissenters in whichever guise they come. It happens. It’s part of life and they know this.
Yet they still bumble among making incomprehensible sheite up that makes absolutely no sense.
Just look at these new rules and tell me what they are supposed to achieve whilst setting out what damage they will do.
It’s laughable. Shut the country down for 3 weeks ffs and let people plan. This is a pathetic nonsensical part way fwck up.
And if they do (which I think they will as this is just a precursor) it still won’t rid us of the virus. What then?
Ach. Ignore me.
Just so fwcked off and in all honesty what the Scottish government does, doesn’t actually affect me unless this clown down here follows suit.
