We are definitely past the point of worrying about getting the best from Kante
It isnt really happening anyway, might as well put him somewhere and give him a defined role
Makes sense to me to drop Mount deeper as we have more than enough talent in the attacking third and Mount himself is alleged to prefer it there as well.
I also think it gives a lot better balance to the central midfield!
Go on Frank - what Biggish says!

Know what you mean!
He will "see the light" eventually lol... I'm confident
In general I find aggressive 4231's a dangerous game in the PL, unless you completely overwhelm teams with your pressing you're always vulnerable behind your midfield with just a few quick & accurate passes.
Before he permanently switched to 433 it's a testament to how industrious & organized Liverpool were that 4231 did as well as it did for them in the early Klopp days.
I think at times formations are (or can be) over rated, in reality it's mostly it's about having the right/best personnel playing, & having defined instructions & a vision of the game/opponent at hand.
Football being what it is (especially currently) any side can be beaten, it's how you approach games...it's how you react to errors, going behind against the run of play, someone not quite on form, whatever...
Burnley will be a classic example of this today...we approach it right, there's a 0-2 win to be had for my money...we forget any of the above...or Frank doesn't act when he needs to...it slips away
Here's hoping
Sideshow has got it too a tee .

Not really. The formation needs to fit to the players and provide balance. Just look at our last game once we were 4 3 4. Instant balance, with players comfortable in their roles.

So far this season Brums Lampard has hoped the same core group of players (Werner, Havertz, Mount, Kante etc.) can be effective across a range of different formations once they “click”. The problem is that quite a few of the players aren’t effective playing wherever on the pitch so the balance is going to be all off anyway.
Lampard can still be flexible in his approach to games and line-ups, but there needs to be some stability with formation
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll go along with that Sidey. However I do think we've accumulated too many attacking players, specifically with Havertz and Mount.
I don't think we really needed Havertz as I think himself and Mason at the moment clash in Franks plan, which I think is the problem we're alluding to here.
Don't get me wrong I wasn't against signing Havertz, as when a special (supposedly) talent like that turns up and wants to join you it's hard to turn down. However I don't want his signing to be at the expense of Mount who I think is as good if not better (at the moment) than Kai.
Therefore it seems to be the obvious solution to me to drop Mount to a position he supposedly favours and I personally feel will balance the attacking formation and the central midfield, in essence killing two birds with one stone.
Well that's my opinion for what it's worth anyway!
