I said this on my own thread - but I think there is a lot of Giroud revisionism from Chelsea fans. He’s not particularly prolific at all, as highlighted by his feeble chance at the end of the game - also he doesn’t present the quality to be on the end of the changes they Abraham found himself on the end of
I think he most certainly does have the quality to get on the end of James crosses. That is a major strength of his. Your right, Giroud has never been a prolific scorer, but that's not a reason nilot to pick him when it's appears tactically correct to do so. And his contribution last season, post lockdown was immense.,

Couldn’t disagree more. Constantly finds himself in decen positions for goals for France and for us when we’ve used him. Giving him 5 minutes at the end of the game was not good enough. Probably a reason he fluffed that chance at the end too, had he been on for 40 minutes he may have converted it, not that it was an easy chance.
So far giroud has got us top four twice and been one of the main reasons in us winning the fa cup and Europa. We would’ve missed out on all had we kept using chances with firstly morata, then Tammy.
Biggish it was a strange decision, we knew spurs would sit deep, and they had a rookie cb, so not sure what the decision was as Tammy would have no space to run into. Giroud is also our best link up player so could have brought players into the game closer into the box. Very strange decision and I agree it cost us the points

I agree. We have seen Tammy struggle agst teams who defend deep and fill the pen area. I was surprised he started.
His in game management is a little suspect, and personally not a fan of his squad management style in terms of freezing players out, but other than that I've got no serious complaints about Lampard.
The way he's approached this job from the beginning is exactly what I'd expected from someone who's undertaking the task of "learning on the job" as it were. He's made tons of errors but more often than not I can see the process of why that occurred, even if I can't predict for sh!t what he'll do wrong next lol.
In an absolutely perfect world would I prefer an experienced head took the reigns just for this season why'll we're at the strongest we've been in ages & the league is there for the taking? Yes I would. Does it faze me too much that can't happen? Nah, cos if we keep down this path of the club being as well organized as it's ever been (arguably) right now our time will come again very soon
Frank's doing fine and seems to have largely put right one of the main complaints the fans have, which was the leaky defence.
Yes, his learning curve might be a reason you don't win the league, but by and large I don't think it ought to be that close if Liverpool can get most of their team fit.
Besides, every manager makes mistakes, fans just pay closer attention to their own side.

Didn't even need to start Giroud...HT would have done
Bottom line is Giroud (in position) would have buried both of those headed chances
Question is would he have been in position...we'll never know because Frank lacked the bottle to swap them at HT when he should have

Agreed
As for opposition view, I feel more confident facing Chelsea with Tammy than Giroud. Given time, Tammy might grow to be a better player but not now

I thi k it does depend on the opposing team. If there is space behind then Tammy over Giroud.
And vive versa when their isn't.
My irrelevant view, I'm still stunned by the fact I ever thought Giroud was a donkey when he was at Arsenal ... he's a REALLY good target man.
He's not someone you'd want as a 1st choice especially without a pacey alternative, I can understand why Arsenal fans got frustrated by him in that respect, but damn as a no.2/rotational option I can't think of many other players I'd rather have. Been undervalued by Lampard (lets be honest) and doesn't cause a fuss, just does what he does with the games he gets. Huge assist to the squad since we signed him

There is absolutely no evidence to support that at all.
They weren't easy chances and claims I've seen on some social media sites, from Tammy haters, claiming them to be 'Sitters' are laughable.
