It’s very simple.... Spurs are much improved, mainly because of the Reggie, PEH signings and because Jose has tightened us up a the back. However, Spurs wont win the league because.....

*We’re too reliant on Kane & Son
*You dont win the league with a donkey like Sissoko starting in CM
*Not enough production from the number 10 role.... NDombele, GLC and Dele are yet to improve on Eriksen at his peak
*Trying to kill off tight games 1-0 will break us in a league that’s dominated by attacking football.... We’ll throw away too many leads and draw too many

End of
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Haven`t Liverpool got a donkey like Henderson in midfield, and they won the league. So that point is moot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry Mate, not Henderson’s biggest fan but I’d take him over Sissoko every day of the week..... Whether you like it or not, not many Donkey’s have captained CL and premier league wins...... Unlike Spurs and their fans..... Liverpool and their fans can back up all the big talk.......
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Going to have to agree with this. Im not particularly fond of Liverpool and their cocksure supporters, who have been mouthy even when they were bang average, but they have every right to big themselves up and take the p**. Fact is they are league winners and CL winners. They will probably win the league this season to. We are close, but until Spurs actually get some trophies under our belt instead of being nearly men all the time, we have nothing to boast about.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

To be fair Don, they have had everything go for them last couple of years. No injuries, refs on their side.

They certainly won't be winning the title this year. Spurs will be winning that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think deep down you know Spurs won’t be winning it mate. That game at Liverpool proved it for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Could have easily won that game Don. So it proved nothing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ah I see - they could have won it easily but decided not to for some reason?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not overly worried about the result. Expect Spurs to win the return match next month with a bit to spare.

posted on 18/12/20

Yes the return game will be really interesting. If they do the double over us then I suspect it could be curtains. I can see us matching their results but to do so plus get 6 more points, nah.

Actually, it proved without a shadow of doubt that Spurs CANNOT do what's needed to get over the line. Time & again this happens with Spurs and you're too stubborn to see it.

Your main rivals have 9 players out, at least 4 of whom would start most games. 3 or 4 are out until Feb, VVD is unlikely to return this season.

While to you this may be irrelevant, it shows that your 'better' squad don't have what it takes to capitalise. Spurs should in reality have been about 6 points clear before the match this week and in a far better place mentally.

This is why you WON'T win the league again in your lifetime.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

9 players out . Liverpool were at full strength bar VVD. Are you like related to Trump, spreading fake news.

As others have said above it’s the very small lines that decide these big games and on another day Bergwyn scores and Kane defends the Firmino header better than he did.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And on another day, Mane's shot goes in off the bar and Sons foot is another few cm ahead.

By the way, one of Bergwijn's attempt wouldn't have counted as ball struck Sissoko's arm in build up.

In fact, from that, you also won the corner that Kane nearly scored from.

Either way, Spurs matched you and I don’t really see much of a gap in quality between the sides. You guys may well win the league and fair enough but Spurs look good and will push you all the way. Especially if you don’t sort out your away form.

Well this is utter horse s**. I’ll give Liverpool credit when due, but you had the exact same team that smashed the league last season apart from VVD, so don’t feed me that bulls** about how you had some sort of reserve side out pathetic. It was a near enough full strength Liverpool side apart from VVD.

FFS sandy give your a head a wobble.

https://www.premierinjuries.com/injury-table.php

Liverpool's injuries, only 8, there were 9 yesterday.
Thiago - starter
Jota - starter
Gomez - starter
VVD - starter
Matip - starts when VVD out

Also squad players Milner, Tsimikas, Shaqiri

Liverpool are currently playing with a 19yr old CB in place of gomez
And 19yr old mf in place of jota

But yeah Liverpool were at full strength with 4 starters injured. You really are a clown sometimes.

Exactly. If they can claim Thiago, then we can claim Ndombele Gareth Bale to while we are at it like you say fact is it was as strong as Liverpool could get apart from VVD. Virtually the same team that smashed the league last season. I will give Liverpool credit when due, but pretty pathetic they are trying to make out we played some sort of reserve side and should of won.

Logic, yeah I've heard of it, use it every day in my job as a computer programmer, maybe you lot should try using some as you appear to forget what criteria you're using to try and win arguments.

To be fair, in terms of the game on Wednesday only Thiago, VvD and probably Gomez start so it is a fair point you make. The issue with the injuries, and what why people mention them, is that for the 3rd game in 7 days we will have to pretty much go unchanged with maybe Keita coming in. If a handful of those players injured had been fit then the likes of Jota, Milner, Matip etc would be playing tomorrow.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok fair enough.

Tbh it would probably be the same the other way round. We have Lamela injured for example, but really a lot of Spurs fans don’t think he should be starting. Then again he could be seen as a first team injury.

Anyway I’m not getting into these debates, I’ll be here for hours and I have work to do

posted on 18/12/20

Facts are Liverpool are the better side and will win the league, I think most Spurs fans can agree with this, but we are certainly a lot closer to you than we were last season. Also, Liverpool did not have a weak side against us. It was virtually the same side that pulverised the league last season. Anyone saying otherwise is talking out their a**

Our injuries are slightly overplayed but I think it is due to the severity that makes it seem worse. Two first choice CB's out for pretty much the season and probably our best CM out for 2-3 months at the same time is pretty unusual. At the same time what Jose said on Tuesday was accurate, you look at the team we had out and only Jones (who was great) and Williams looked out of place. Everyone else was a key part to winning the league last season.

Am surprised some of you have taken it so badly and for so long, but maybe that’s what having to watch such unnecessarily negative football does to you.
If you had Klopp, and we had Jose, I’m pretty sure I’d be miserable too.
