We could easily have beaten Varpool, but we had zero luck on the day, their goal was a lucky deflection and the other goal was given after the officials ignored a foul on Dier. They created no clear chances, every save Hugo had to make was a routine stop.
On the other hand, Spurs scored a great goal and created 3 other clear chances, 2 that Bergwjin missed and the other for Kane that was harder to miss than score.
If you look at the other points we have dropped this season, the Newcastle and WHU games were down due to poor refereeing, and the Palace game their keeper had his best game of the season.
The only game we have been beaten with a whimper was the Everton game, and even then the free kick from which they scored was taken from completely the wrong position, allowing them to create a better angle of delivery.
So, overall the signs are good and if the officials did their jobs evenly and fairly in every game, we would probably be clear at the top of the league.
It's a big game for Spurs this weekend on the back of two disappointing results. One point out of nine would be poor, two points would only be a little better, but only if Liverpool drop points.
If Liverpool win and spurs lose, this could have massive ramifications for your bold prediction sandy.
lose more ground on the champions and this title bid sandy is so sure of, could be over before it even began.
This season is incredibly hard to call because of the unique circumstances. As a Liverpool fan I'm delighted to be top of the league and having cruised through our CL group, especially when you factor in the injuries we've sustained along the way. The teenagers who have come in have done wonderfully well and this exposure to playing top level football with serve they well in their careers. Jones ran your midfield ragged on Wednesday night, what a talent he is eh sandy!

The way Liverpool fans are going on their starting side would have about 15 players

It usually has just 13.

Oh well.
We won, you lost.
Am surprised some of you have taken it so badly and for so long, but maybe that’s what having to watch such unnecessarily negative football does to you.
If you had Klopp, and we had Jose, I’m pretty sure I’d be miserable too.

Who has taken it badly ?
Most Spurs fans have been pretty philosophical about it

As others have said above it’s the very small lines that decide these big games and on another day Bergwyn scores and Kane defends the Firmino header better than he did.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And on another day, Mane's shot goes in off the bar and Sons foot is another few cm ahead.
By the way, one of Bergwijn's attempt wouldn't have counted as ball struck Sissoko's arm in build up.
In fact, from that, you also won the corner that Kane nearly scored from.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
On another day the ref would have ruled out Liverpool`s winner because of the foul on Dier, and the first goal, the ball would have deflected over the bar, instead of into the net. Swings and roundabouts.

I am expecting a Spurs win, and a Liverpool draw at best. As usual Liverpool get all the luck, with Benteke playing against Spurs on Sunday, then unluckily gets sent off midweek, so misses the Liverpool game.
As I said earlier, Liverpool get an extraordinary amount of luck.
