There's more important things than looking out for marginal and negligible advantages. The league have to try it out for a while to see how it works and the playing field can never and has never really been level in the manner you want to see.
Crying about this is just some weird pedantry, cherry picking of the nitty gritty. Its not worth it and any advantage gained is negligible. Would be so stupid to stop fans going to games when possible to "ensure fairness".
Its a team sport, if you lose just take it on the chin like a man.

The integrity of the competition has been compromised again. They should have kept fans away the whole season. Covid is not going away any time soon, they were too quick to allow fans back, it has made a mockery of the PL again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Never mind, maybe in 60 years time you might get the perfect storm that allows the poor little spuddies to win a PL title. Until then 'keep crying & stay bitter'
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who mentioned a PL title, you salty. needy, pathetic little mug.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why should I be salty or needy?
You're the one always looking for excuses as to why spurs are shiyte. Again with the 'competition is compromised' line now that spurs have bottled it.
Anyway, 'keep crying & stay bitter'
I didn't see a single Spurs fan on here talk about the integrity of competition when they used three different stadiums in one season.
I don't see anyone minding Utd being able to have more fans in the ground than anyone else for decades on end.
Just more waffle from the usual suspects in London.

The fact you are commenting on here, wasting your time on this that you called "waffle" shows two things 1) you have nothing better to do and 2) Your comments are not adding to this discussion so why are you wasting the time on here?
There is definitely an effect without fans. Fans won't let players just cruise through the game, they'll put that extra pressure and extra encouragement to the players, making them know if they have failed to do so.
It will always be a problem for bottling mentally weak teams as morespurs indicates.

Our home record remains unchanged this season, 100% without fans, 100% with fans.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The perfect sample
Fulham drew with Liverpool with the fans encouraging them and Palace lost to Liverpool without fans, after drawing with Spurs with fans on.
Those who say othewise are looking to serve their narrative. Don;t tell me not singing YNWA at Anfield for the forseeable future will not affect Liverpool?

So we beat Leeds and half the team was kids again at Atalanta. Its more to do with injuries and fitness problems than presence if fans. I think you know this tbh.

Why you only pick these games? We've played 14, won 9, drawn 4 and lost 1. Cherry picking to suit your narrative. I think you know this.
The players have stated it makes a difference. So have the managers. They have actually said that having fans back helps them and makes a difference.
Is that not worth at least noting?
Let's not make this an Liverpool v spurs thing again. Spurs are perennial under achievers, or bottlers if that's a better way of putting it. I'm sure we would still have facked up some results. I'm almost certain we wouldn't have won 6-1 at Old Trafford of there wwre fans there.
We're playing in the midst of a pandemic where we are extremely lucky to have any fans at all in the stadium.
Considering its a spectator sport then at this time I don't see it as carrying much weight.
Fans should attend any game where its possible to do so. Under the circumstances, the positives of having 2000 fans outweigh the negatives IMO and therefore I don't see what other option is reasonable. Keeping fans out where they can attend a game is stupid.

Yep fair comment. It is surely though acceptable though to at least have a conversation about whether it's completely fair. If the end summary is similar to what you say then fair enough.
My personal opinion would be to have a consistent approach for all when it comes to fans. And not a number but a percentage. But that would involve a different law around the whole thing too.
Ultimately, you are probably right. But I don't get people getting defensive when the question is answered.

I think the point being made is that total fairness is not a realistic expectation, even when there isn't a global pendemic.
Technically, the league has never been fair. Under the current circumstances, this is more extreme but still almost irrelevant in my personal view.
If just 2k fans were able to unstabalise an opponents confidence then they wouldn't be playing in the Pl.
Visa versa if a Pl player needs fans to perform then they aren't a Pl player.
I can't believe people are even having this conversation they are the top .1% of pro footballers ffs
