Clockwork, well I disagree with that. Also there’s to consider the improvements that can be made aren’t just to do with results, I think all three clubs would be performing better with better qualified managers.

But what United and Arsenal fans thought about their managers is irrelevant. Roman Abramovich has higher standards for his football club than those fans do for their own.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What utter horse sheite.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can see the point. Abramovich is probably not interested in the long-term rebuild with which many United fans are willing to entrust Solskjaer. I personally wouldn't call that "higher standards" but I can definitely see what Darren means and I don't think it's particularly controversial.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I stand by it, it’s utter sheite.
The Chelsea owner doesn’t have higher standards than their fans... the United owners don’t have higher standards than me.
Different approaches? Absolutely.
Just because some people won’t except managers who can’t deliver results in the short term doesn’t mean those people have higher standards than those that do.
It’s a ridiculous comment he made.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course, but in the particular case of Chelsea, even "performing better" may not be enough to finish above City or Liverpool, with the CL, or even to keep a better-qualified manager than Lampard in the job.
And is there not a chance that, through overseeing a rebuild, even if progress is fairly slow at first, a manager like Solskjaer or Lampard might accrue those "qualifications" they lacked at the start of it? Maybe I'm being naive, but that's always been my hope for Solskjaer.
The most interesting point raised do far in this thread is that Rosso and LvG might actually be the same person.

No; Rosso's English is nowhere near good enough.
Yes but I think there’s a difference between finishing above Liverpool and City, and spending more than anyone in a transfer market and getting worse than you were when you had a transfer ban.
Maybe they will accrue those qualifications, but I think after ample time of watching their teams you can see where their strengths are and whether or not they’re at the level of the top managers/coaches. I’ve not seen that, which is why I think they’d be better under better coaches (particularly ones that have a focus on coaching attacking teams) as they have very good players. Arsenal less so, their squad is shiiiiiit.

No, it’s not.
Embarrassing article, Oscar. What’s the point in sacking Lampard now to bring in any of the managers you mentioned on a provisional basis, when none of them would significantly increase the likelihood of Chelsea finishing in the CL places?
Also, isn’t Lampard a club legend who was an essential part of the team during the most glorious era in Chelsea history? At the very least, give him until the end of the season and part ways in as civilised a manner as possible. Completely classless to axe him now.
It’s not about finishing above Liverpool and City. If Chelsea were showing signs that they were progressing and could compete with those 2 in the next season or so then there wouldn’t be any pressure on Lampard.

This isn't meant as a dig or sarcasm, but do you think Solskjaer's United are showing signs of progress and that they could compete with Liverpool or City over the next season or two? I only ask because mere weeks ago Solskjaer was coming in for the same stick Lampard is getting now.
This is his 2nd season. We aren’t talking about overnight. He’s spent over £200M in the summer and they look worse than last season
I don’t think it shows a lack of class to sack him. He’s lucky to be in the job in the first place, sticking with him if you have no confidence in him (and if the players don’t) just because he’s a legend isn’t a good footballing decision.
United look good right now but Solksjaer will always be a PE teacher to me. Can’t see him ever winning anything with United and reckon his job will be under scrutiny by the end of the season again. But that’s just me
But I hope they do stick with him. We’re a better team than Chelsea with Lampard in the job.

City and Liverpool are the only clubs I actually want to sack their managers.
I said before the season started when United and Arsenal fans were having meltdowns about Chelsea’s transfer activity that they would still be in a scrap for top 4 and nothing more.
I don’t necessarily think that Lampard or Solksjaer have done terrible jobs. In fact they were probably the right managers to transition them from a terrible place to having squads capable of competing under proven managers. Neither will ever win anything at their clubs though, in my opinion
People are reactionary as fvck on this site, look at arsenal fans a fortnight ago, United have half a dozen or so fans who were screaming for Ole’s head not too long ago, there have been muttering from Spurs fans recently, now it Lampard’s turn
