It's not so long ago that Crystal Palace had 10 penalties in the same season, whilst little old United were given just 3.

I hope we never return to those dark days of favouritism by the FA.

last season watford scored a greater % of their goals from the spot than united - no one cares
this season the same is true of leicester, by a factor of 2 - statistical quirk
liverpool have c. 300 fewer all-time PL points, and 200 fewer goals than united, yet still lead the all-time PL penalty table - just one of those things
united have won more penalties than any other team under ole - corruption, PL desperate to make united "relevant" again etc etc

opposition fans have to use the goldilocks argument - ignore the very short-term (this season/2020 overall), and the longer-term (all-time PL stats) - and the porridge is just warm enough.

of course no one can explain why this didn't happen under LVG or Jose, SAF apparently intimidated the refs, so presumably ole is the most intimidating manager in the league.

Ok, so if things went "Dortmundy",which is him finishing 7th (I assume)... and I pointed out that him winning back to back titles could also be "Dortmundy" why does him not having meltdowns the difference between those two things?

I think you're reaching a bit here, and are reading your own interpretation into it. 'Dortmundy' referred to his final season 7th place, 'keeping a lid on his meltdowns' referred to how he'll avoid Liverpool falling into the same situation.

PL absolutely desperate for leicester to be relevant.

I have no idea what caused the Dortmundyness at Dortmund. The Dortmundyness at Liverpool could be caused by his meltdowns, certainly. Then we'll call it going a bit Liverpoolly.
