We have out spent all clubs not called City and Utd for the last decade and the last 5 years
GT, football isn't just about having a good first 11, it's about squad management and being able to manage an entire squad.
Arteta has shown himself to be incapable of doing this.
It was his and the club's decision to not get more players in Summer, and it was their decision to not bring in new players to replace those we got rid of in January, leaving us in this precarious predicament.
We have no-one to blame here but ourselves. I'm sick of people blaming circumstance over reason.

Arteta has had more time than emery, spent more money than emery and survived worse runs of form than emery, who we all saw wasn't good enough. so wy keep arteta? it's looking increasingly stupid to keep him on as manager by any means necessary.

We are collapsing now because we have no answer to two important players being injured and our of the season.
Arteta manage to get out the players that really disturb the team.
It was clear to me that we need more depths in every position.

It's not just about how much they spend - Pool used to have a poor defence - what did Klopp do? Went out and bought a world class keeper and central defender - job done - we just go out and buy players with no particular skill - and therefore without ANY clear idea of what we will do with them

We arent ruthless enough for years now. We thought not being in the international cups the squad was good enough to compete at least about EL.
Again, look how ruthless the big teams are now. Liverpool had already 5 strikers and brought in Diaz.
As long as we dont being more ruthless in the market we wont get an international place as we all know that injuries spoiling our season again.

And that is the big difference between them and us, operationally.
We've had one good window (last summer) in about 5 years. It's no wonder the gap is as wide as it currently is.
It's going to take consistent success in transfer windows before we see any change in fortunes - it's the only reason I can think we didn't spend in January.
The £110m we spent on Lacazette and Aubameyang killed us. We'll be paying for that for a while to come yet.

Where are Villarreal in the league at the moment?

We currently have Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man U above us. Spurs and Arsenal's squad values are probably comparable.
What's your point?

We have also out spent Liverpool and Chelsea for net spend over the last 10 years and 5 years lex.
We've just made poor management appointments after Wenger. That can happen. Doesn't mean you stop making the next one out of fear of failing over the last one.
Tell you its cheaper to do as well and its a crucial moment because those young players we have are very coveted.

The figures speak for themselves, or course, but you have to factor in the successes Liverpool and City in particular have had in the transfer market for many years now - when is the last time Liverpool spent big on a flop?
Chelsea just p/ssed money up the wall, and hope for success.
All three clubs sell really, really well.
And that is the big difference between them and us, operationally.
We've had one good window (last summer) in about 5 years. It's no wonder the gap is as wide as it currently is.
It's going to take consistent success in transfer windows before we see any change in fortunes - it's the only reason I can think we didn't spend in January.
The £110m we spent on Lacazette and Aubameyang killed us. We'll be paying for that for a while to come yet.

Arteta says Arsenal missed a 'huge' opportunity after Spurs' defeat:
“It’s very disappointing and difficult to explain, but this is what makes this sport different because again, in basketball, you have 25 shots and the opponent has one, you win 10 out of 10.”
Arteta: "We didn’t have enough quality and capacity to break them down when we had the numbers to do that."
Arteta: "I can’t remember a game that Arsenal have played in this stadium when they have created and dominated the game more and better."
