Kiwor was pretty good. Got to be honest well done 👏
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Pains me to admit this as a card-carrying Robert Holding fan, but we should have just gone with Kiwior as soon as Saliba got injured.

tbf, Kiwior didn't look good in the Europa games, maybe that's why Arteta held out a bit

We need to stick with him for the rest of the season - and see if he is good enough - or whether we need to buy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think either way we need to buy, perhaps how good he looks depends on the calibre of player we have to bring in

Eg ready to compete for first team spot or u21 who can come in as fourth choice and have a settling in period

Holding would be a good player for a team who sits back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Holding wouldn't look out of place in Southampton or Forest. Doesn't belong competing at this level.

Total neutral, but a well deserved win. Nothing against Newcastle, but that was a real sh1tehousery performance from start to finish. Ref let too much go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They thought we'd do a Spurs and clearly came to intimidate. We were impressively resilient against their physicality and intensity.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah also my thoughts before the game started and began the first 15 min

did he not get games earlier on - and didn't impress at the time?

Man City and Southampton are the only teams we've failed to beat in the league this season. How on earth have we not managed to beat Southampton

I think we'll have more challenges next season, but we'll also have a much better squad I imagine, in terms of depth, experience and quality

manu - chelsea - newcastle - they will improve over the summer - it's going to be a far more competitive race for top 4. We have the added disruption of trying to see if balogun fits in to a front 3

Liverpool too potentially, plus I think teams will have more of an idea how to play against us by the time next season comes around. Then on top of that we can't rotate in Europe like we did this year.

Will be learning curve for us but if we get the recruitment right in the summer I think we'll be upto it

And another season's worth of education under the belt for Arteta.

I think people forget just how green he is.

Things can only get better.

True.

But joining the club halfway through a season was always going to be an uphill task. Let's judge him after he's had a full preseason.

We really had all the tools to win it this year to be honest, we've dominated every team bar Man City. Just convert the draws against Westham and Southampton to wins and I think we would have had it in the bag, even with the Man City losses

All our youngsters will be one year older and more mature. Marti/Saka are tremendous.

The squad needs to reinforced and a few needs selling.
As well as Balogun has done I France, we will take circa £30 million for him.
I see Moussa Diaby coming as a viable competition for Saka, two midfielders and possibly a right back.

We need another CB. We've got Jorginho and Elneny so 1 more midfielder will do, but he has to be top quality

A new right back will release White to go back to his proper position as a centre half. That gives us five CBs
At this stage in the evolution of the team, it is more about quality than quantity.

That's where the experience comes in.

Our First XI is as competitive as anyone out there. But the quality drops off a cliff beyond that.

An experienced manager builds a quality 26-man squad with enough cover to last a 50-game season.

While keeping everyone happy .
