I see what you mean. Much will depend on recruitment and how much we can move our style to something much closer to City's. That seems to be the long term plan.

Just get the feeling that arteta doesn't really know how to get the best out of the likes of partey and Pepe

We didn’t click today. We were pathetic. So much wrong at the club. May aswell sell Auba in the Summer if we are sticking with Spanish Pulis. He is finished with this dictator in charge

Partey, Willian, Gabriel are all Arteta players and haven't had a great season. I think its fair to say some of it is first season blues but you'd expect that from whoever comes in as well.

What I wanted to see was progressive attacking football. Its exactly what I thought after we won the FA Cup. But nothing this season.

I hope that Arteta at least changes his coaches.

I think we'd see if a different Partey if we had been successful in our pursuit of Aouar. Pepe has had a good season. I didn't want us to buy him, believing he would flop, but he has the chance to mature into a great player. Arteta is managing him well.

This season is the worst football I've ever seen Arsenal play in my lifetime. Just facking abject, insipid stuff. So many matches where our total attempts in a game are in the low single digits and we have like one shot on target. Arteta simply can't be here at the start of next season and he's done nothing to earn the trust of a manager tasked with rebuilding the team. How can we keep watching this crap week after week after week?

Question for all. Do we want this live thread in that form to continue?

First thing Arteta did after taking the job was tighten things up at the back. I recognised him as a "George Graham" type right from the start.

Just look at today's game. The players were already trying to run the clock down as early as the 50th minute.

It would be very unfair to expect him to suddenly change into an attack-minded manager. Let him do what he's good at.

Only Manchester City (57) & Manchester United (45) have picked up more points in the Premier League since Boxing Day than Arsenal (44). #afc
