Liverpool are burnt out, rosso. Same thing happened with Dortmund when Klopp ran them into the ground for six years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. We are missing 3 cbs and our midfield pairing as a result. Simple stuff. Also jota injured
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jota was your biggest miss today.

Your defence actually dealt with us very well, and your midfield did the job it more or less always does.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You didnt attack us. Just like fulham wba etc. Cbs had little to do. You are understating the overall impact of no cbs particularly vvd

Our cbs had little to do. Not taking away from utds chances but as a whole you didnt test our weakened defence much

Liverpool’s cb issues are overplayed. The form of their full backs and forwards is a massive problem for them.

Full backs dont go fwd as much due to us missing vvd and gomez. Again simple thing to understand. Forwards have had no room last few games as midfield is effected by no fab or hendo.

Yes as they also took a cautious defensive approach. Utd are a better side. Nevertheless similar tactic v pool

Rosso

I’m pretty sure if you replaced Saquiri with Henderson, Wijnaldum with Fabino, Henderson with VVD and Fabino with Gomez/Matip you’d be seeing a very different Liverpool side both in performance and form.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well firstly, Wijnaldum has played far more games in that midfield three the last two seasons than Henderson. He’s been more important to them because he’s a better player.

But shift Thiago where Shaqiri was and play Fabinho in his stead and you might have seen a better performance today. I’ll give you that.

Their problems are offensive though, and their chances are more often than not created from wide areas with minimal input from the midfield. VVD actually often does more offensively for Liverpool than any of their CMs, and playing Henderson in his place you’d think from an attacking perspective would leave you like-for-like.

rosso, the lack of rotation hasn’t helped. Look at how many games their front three have played under Klopp. They’re clearly knackered.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jota made a massive difference when he came in, really freshened things up. He’s been a massive miss.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And this.

posted on 17/1/21

Rouge, it’s pathetic to call that game similar to Fulham.

That’s either sour grapes or a basic lack of knowledge.

posted on 17/1/21

Not really, no. They look knackered from being run ragged for years. They’re not as sharp as they were previously. TAA has been playing like a cuuunt all season. Robertson is the only one that has performed well enough this season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
They had us "worked out" before we had vvd. His impact causes a shift in the whole team added with a missing gomez and matip. We also lose his threat from corners teams can defend deep without that threat

Fabinho is best CB in the league currently imo.

Just interesting how you identify that as a wum yet think comparing United to Fulham and WBA apparently isn’t.

I don’t need to look at the stats.

I have a modicum of knowledge about the game.

I think the Plan B has been worked out. That’s where they went today with Henderson and Fabinho trying to ping balls over the top and we dealt with that by setting our defensive line right and dealing with the situations aerially instead of allowing them to get in behind or one-on-one.

Their problem now is that their midfielders might actually have to play some football, and beyond Thiago, they aren’t actually very good at doing that.
