This.

Felt soft in real time but I think it was an experienced attacker using his body well v a midfiled player playing center back, cavani took the touch and rolled Fab knowing the knock was coming. No complaints about the free for me.

I'm more concerned that Rashford was given half a pitch to play in for 90 mins .

Was a good game that we ultimately lost, moaning about free kicks etc. Is pointless.

Yeh, I think you'd have a hard case arguing that wasn't a foul on Cavani, there seemed to be quite a lot of force in that kick.

Was in first half when Rashford put him in and he tried to leave his trailing leg on Alisson

All the Liverpool ones were dives. All the United ones were fouls. I have not seen any of them.

Taking one example (TOOR), his viewpoint is roughly this:

"If Salah feels any contact then he's entitled to go down"

"A clever dive from Cavani"

They're not actually contradictory. He's actually condoning diving and applauding it, contrary to what most people feel about it. The only point of difference is that he believes Cavani dived, when everyone else thinks he was clattered.

Come on... he will happily say Cavani dived yet scream blue murder if you claim Salah dived.

That is surely contradictory?

I always read into it that he believed the dive was justified as there was contact, he's just making sure he gets the penalty. I might be giving him too much credit, and I absolutely disagree with him that diving is ever justified, of course.

Oh that one shout in first half yeah never a pen that he'd lost the ball and left his leg in looking for a pen.

I haven't seen him admit that Salah dived though.

You have to extrapolate it from his usual weasel words.

People saying Cavani doves are on the wum or more worryingly really are that deluded. 100% if that was the other way around they’d be screaming for a foul

It was a foul on Cavani, haven't seen many people saying otherwise.

This whole obsession you've got with this diving thing is just bizarre, Winston. Football fans are hypocritical, all sets of fans are.

Are you trying to say United fans don't act in the same way?

Obsession?

I don't think all fans are hypocritical. I think we all have times when bias is at play, but that's not really the same.

"Are you trying to say United fans don't act in the same way?"

I don't know where to start with this. I haven't implied anything of the sort, because that would be absurd.

Oh and you haven't seen many people saying otherwise?

Separate posters:

"Cheats"

"Bunch of diving knnnnnts"

"Hurts to lose to a dive"

"All from a dive. Been going on all season facking bullsheit."

"Absolutely nothing in that"

"How is that a foul"

"a clever dive"

Yes, obsession. I've seen you bring this up already about 3 or 4 times on the live thread ,whenever a United player is called out for diving, even when it is blatant.

It just seems to me this is a direct callout on Liverpool fans for acting in this way, when in fact you see it from all sets of fans.

posted on 25/1/21

It’s fair to say all clubs fans have those that only see things through tinted specs.

There's no obsession - not hugely surprising that something like diving is discussed frequently.

The world doesn't revolve around you. Of course every set of fans have people who act in this way - I've always said that.
