And there's absolutely no reason why the collection of players we have should be desperately defending for our lives with everyone behind the ball when we are leading in games. That is 100% tactical

-----------------------------------------------

I think part of it is mindset too.

The incredible thing is that only against Leicester has it cost us points. But we've had a lot of lucky escapes

Style is if you watch the second goal we conceded against Sheff U is to counter, the attacking players didn’t bother defending because they wanted to be ready for the counter seeing a lot of the Sheff U players in our half. Instead our shambolic defending and players (and goalkeepers) inability to pass cost us a goal.

I feel that style for me means having two true wingers, who mainly stay wide, so we use all the pitch. Wingers who can beat a man, cross, and score a dozen goals over the season. I'm really hoping that Diqllo will turn out to be our man on the right, or Fecunda. Rashford on the left. Then instructions to the whole team to move the ball quickly, and attack whenever possible.

I don't blame Ole because his career stands or falls by results, not style.

It needs serious backing by the owners, who has a style we all like? Only Pool I think, and not even that ecery game.

Beckham and Giggs. And if they can't cross it they would lay it back to Neville or such. The United way is crossing.

Imagine having RVP and Ronaldo level talent in this Man Utd side. The reason why Fernandes is our top goalscorrer is because our strikers are poor. The fact we went out to Sevilla after missing 6 big chances tells you all we need to know.

Against Copenhagen and Sevilla we scored 2 penalties but missed 12 big chances and 40 chances. I honestly think being a striker at Man Utd is the easiest job in the world. Miss sitter after sitter every week and get away with it. I think it is clear Rashford will never be good enough as a striker or even winger. Martial blows cold most weeks. Cavani has been one of the most wasteful forwards for a year now. His stats at PSG had him as one of the worst strikers in the league and it has carried on at Man Utd his conversion rate is shocking.

Also this isn't a new thing. Look at the one sided draws in 16/17 and 19/20 season. I noticed since SAF left no side drops as many points as Man Utd do when we dominate games.

it’s team a that relies too much on moments of inspiration from some of the talented players we have in the squad, rather than playing as flowing attacking team.

Bruno was saying just this in an interview with Lineker last week.

Why should Ole be absolved of blame for the style of football where others weren’t? If anything he should be held up to higher standards given he knows what the fabs want to see.

Robbing, Bruno’s probably frustrated by it. You can see it in his performances as well, he’s not played as well as the stats suggest. He was much better at the end of last season.

That’s what’s quite worrying. A lot of our attacking players are regressing this season. Even ones with a low bar like Dan James.

who has a style we all like?

--------------------------------------------------

City, Leeds, Brighton, Villa, Southampton, even Arsenal at times as well as Liverpool are some of the teams I enjoy watching more than us and that's just in the Premier League.

There are plenty of clubs out there who play attractive football with less resources than we have. Not all of them have the quality like we do to make it really count but they still at least try to play football that's not only entertaining but easy on the eye.

Some of these teams though despite the lack of quality are more than the sum of their parts due to their style, something we are not unfortunately.

Not me I'm afraid. I don't like any of their styles more than ours except in patches. And I like our style in patches.

So despite not liking our style you only think one other team plays better football than us?

Makes sense.

I absolve Ole but not for ever. I think he inherited a poorly put together dispirited squad. He had to change lots while still getting results, ie third last year.
Because of the virus he could not get who he wanted in the window.
Next season I hope and expect much more. I want to see exciting, attacking football that keeps us close to the top all season.
Meanwhile he has a job to protect.

Before Bruno came in I'd say it was as painful as anything you'd seen post SAF

It's quite Jose like in the sense that it can be entertaining because of the quality of the players - I remember thinking you were actually relatively good to watch when he first got there and had zlatan up front for example

That’s a cop out really. Especially when you look at what plenty of other managers have done with lesser players. There are teams that have been, or are in, relegation battles that play more entertaining football than us. The idea we have to play crap football to get results just simply isn’t true. And it’s not like the results are particularly impressive.

I think our performances have been worse this season than they were first half of last season. Results are just better against smaller sides as we’ve had Bruno and Pogba this year.

The very worst of Mourinho, LVG and Moyes was worse than what we played last year - though there were a lot of performance that rival some of the crap stuff we saw under them. Same as this season.

I live in hope we’ll appoint a manager that gets us playing entertaining football this summer. It’s been so facking long.

Might take dropping out of the top four to get a change in management, though. Which I’d happily trade for if the next man brings entertainment.

I said a style that we all liked, which I think is Pool. Bearing in mind it has to be successful, no good being stylish in the bottom three.

Ole is slowly implementing an attacking style of play, but it takes time to achieve this. I am disappointed in you for questioning this Donny, I really do like you but you’re pushing your luck. It takes time to implement a style of play, it look Klopp time etc.

Do you speak for everybody?

I'd be surprised if more people didn't enjoy the way City were playing at the moment more than Liverpool.

That’s part of the problem, Woodward hasn’t got a facking clue. My only hope is that he’s noticed that defensive managers aren’t that popular among loads of clubs in Europe now, and that he’s aware of just how much people despised Moyes, LVG and Mourinho.

Yes, I think lots of fans really enjoy your style of play.

Oddly enough not many of them are Man U supporters.

I think the best football we've played under Ole was when he first arrived when we played 4-3-3. It was more fluid and in sync than anything we've seen since.
