Begging bowl out again.
Shameful.
Always good to see fans supporting their club during these turbulent times.
Good supporters of good clubs offer financial assistance during these unprecedented financial conditions, whereas bad supporters threaten to withdraw funding (via not buying season tickets) because they've had a couple of bad results.
Not wanting to name any names here of course. But I mean Celtic. They're the bad supporters these days. Celtic. Let's all point at them and boo.
BOOOOOOO
I know you guys don't really care too much about these things, especially now that you have 55 more or less wrapped up, but you have to ask why the club isn't just able to run on a sustainable basis.
The fact that the club is looking for the first tranche of money in March is a real shocker.

The obvious answer is that they had to start from scratch after 4 years of damage done by a mixture of crooks and incompetent idiots.
Also a very costly mistake in Pedro.
Board have said this year is the last of the investment stage with a plan to move to a sustainable model next season. This is a business model they have been open about since they took over, probably took a few years longer though due to a ridiculous amount frittered away on Pedro.
That will mean player sales and developing players for profit (Similar to what Celtic did very well until a few seasons ago) but for that model to work you need to have a squad of assets to sell
Speculate to accumulate one might say

Just going by what folk say on here the last few seasons windows have been terrible with the players coming in not likely to cover what's being spent.
Or are they all wrong and its only the last window (although £20 million is a lot) that was bad?

We were at least '10 years' behind Celtic 3 seasons ago.
Stevie G has done a great job but he isnt a miracle worker ffs. There was always going to be a loss making period up front.
We havent won anything yet. If we have a good run in the knock out stages of Europe and get the title over the line then that will only enhance the value of our players.
And I think we all accept that there will be a couple of significant player sales this summer.
The modelhas not exactly been rocket science - invest in a team, secure success, enhance the values of players brought in for relatively modest fees, sell at a profit, pay back the investment.
And repeat.
The only thing that determines how successful that model is is the quality of the individuals tasked with delivering it.
Stevie G and his team supplemented by Ross Wilson and the changes he has implemented to the scouting network etc seem to be delivering right now.
But if they go and you end up with a lesser skilled set of individuals then the quality of recruitment falls off, the coaching and management of the team falls off and the model starts to fail.
Thankfully at the moment we seem to have the right individuals in place and Celtic look like they probably dont.
Unless of course this season is just a one off because of Covid.
For the first time in ages we have plenty of sellable assets that will bring in good sums.
Kent morelos kamara tav, goldson etc. Players like Wright will be purchased to cover Kent, the Bournemouth players to coverfor when golds on and kamara move on. Celtic have been doing it season upon season, selling for big money, buying cheaper replacements then building them to a level where they make good profits.
We are at that stage now. This year celtic have been dross so maybe Less money into the wagon wheel tin this time
Anyway main point get involved if you can spare the £500 upfront great, if not there are monthly options over 2 or 3 years that will also give you lifetime membership at the end.
If you are minted (like ginger minted) then get another one for the Wife, Kids, Neighbour, the Dug.
I was already a lifetime member but have started a monthly one for my wee girl.

The 'plan' is all well and good as long as your scouting personel are good at their job.
Rangers have done great in the recrutment stakes, but for every Roofe, there's a Zungu, for every Frimpong there's an Amido Balde.
I can see Rangers selling a few at the end of the season, probably get five or six million for Morelos.

Time will tell what we get for Morelos. Fact is that even after a non existent second half to the season last year we were still offered £16m+ for him.
If you think Morelos has lost 60%+ of his value from that point then fair dos.
He hasnt had the most spectacular season but I would still expect to get more than £10m for him. He is still a real handful and does produce in the big games in Europe more often than not.
Unfortunately he looks like he will leave us without ever scoring in an OF game, but that seems to be just one of those things with him.
