You can't sell what no one is looking to buy, I don't remember a bid for one single Rangers player, Leverkusen were looking for a RB, looked at Scotland and bid for Frimpong, not Tavernier. Just saying.

And given how much your lot obsess over a certain Colombian striker I am very surprised you dont remember when Lille president Gerard Lopez confirmed they had made a £16million bid for Alfredo Morelos.

Or when Leeds United made a £10m bid for Ryan Kent?

Theres £26m right there for those two - confirmed bids.

I agree we probably wont get the £16m again for Morelos - unless he has a storming few games in the knock out phase of the Europa possibly?

And of course Covid has had a significant impact on football world wide.

Clubs will have to adjust how they operate once the short to medium term landscape becomes clearer. And Rangers wont be immune to that.

I am sure neither Rangers or Celtic wanted to sell any first team players in January.

The Frimpong deal suited both parties because he didnt want to play for Celtic and Celitc got a (surprisingly imo) large profit on someone who has had 3/4 of a decent season at first team level.

On the OP, you didn't nearly lose you club, you did lose it, it was sold for £1 then that owner liquidated the club, 9 years of this denial its pathetic really, liquidation means done, gone, finished, rightly or wrongly, just at the time or unjust on Rangers that was what happened, Walter Smith agreed, Souness agreed, ffs even auld sash bash Donald Findlay agreed and he is quite the legal mind. So chuck money at the new club, who cares its a personal decision what anyone does with their cash.
