So much disrespect to Klopp by the OP. Is he forgetting how clueless Pep was last season when Laporte was out for 3 months? You lost one defender and could not cope.
Your 4th choice CB costs more than all our defence put together if you exclude VVD.
Pep has not done what Klopp has done which is win league and European cup for a club with a very limited budget compared to what City, Bayern and Barca have had.

Limited budget
You’ve broken two world records ffs

Never thought that these 'who is the best ever' competitions in sport have ever been helpful and prove anything much. It usually ends up with people insisting that it has to be somebody from the present era, simply because it is of 'their time' and that the passage of time naturally means 'human progress', which is of course nonsense in lots of ways.
Pep is probably the most successful coach of this generation/era in terms of winning trophies and adopting an idiosyncratic and expansive style of play which people can identify and appreciate. However, nothing much is 'new' and Pep has leant heavily on the Dutch influence at Barca and Johan Cruyff which is based on philosophy of Total Football created by Rinus Michels. So it could be argued that Michels had the best coaching mind ever?

Fair enough.

Fergie's record speaks for itself so it's probably better to compare managers in the present era.
By the way I still think Pep is the best coach of his generation. Not even considering the trophies he's won but just the impact he's had on the game and every league that he's joined. It's incredible.
It's just people often forget that when Pep had Barca putting teams into submission with the possession & high press football there was a crazy German in the Bundesliga that was planting the roots of a high-octane pressing system that would eventually become the tool that dismantled Barca & Spain's style of play.
Klopp is right up there.

Klopp is the modern day mr motivator, all he’s missing is the spandex. He’s very good at getting people to run through brick walls for him, not sure he’s up there with the best tactically though as he’s only had one style of play that’s worked so far in his career.

A very lazy lack of footballing knowledge response.
People seem to forget that breaking the world record did include the sale of Coutinho for what would total £142m as well, so when we talk about net spend, the difference isn't that large.
Klopp has had 5 years to build a team and yes, he is bound to have good finances at Liverpool being one of the best sides commercially, but it still doesn't compare to the astronomical finances City have had for 15 odd years now.
I still agree and say Pep is the best coach and best tactician in my opinion, but it's unfair to also disregard Klopp and criticise him when he's competed, matched or bettered City in the last few seasons as well, so he must be pretty good with his tactics to do that mustn't he?
Ole has improved United's defence more than what Pep has improved City's. Ole is on a shoe string budget compared to VARdiola too.

Inter won 3 league titles on the bounce before Jose joined them. He spent something £100m in his first season there on players like Quaresma, Mariga and Muntari.
It's only in his second season he had to swap Ibra for Eto'o.
People have a misguided opinion of his Inter stint. Don't get me wrong winning the treble is always a legendary move but Inter were a powerhouse at the time.
And they literally had no competition.
I only bought Inter into the conversation because of the CL success which was down to Jose. Yes they were dominant in the league but look at Juve who have been even more dominant but have been poor in the CL.
That's more down to Juve underachieving than Jose over overachieving with Inter. I'd say he's about on par winning the CL given Inter's stability and resources at the time.
Yes, but I feel bad agreeing with Andy Townsend
