Mixed bag over the years.
He's cost us a lot of points in some big games. His kicking also let's him down. Good shot stopper but I don't think that's enough to be the best of the best.
Pope is a poor mans Lloris in my eyes and I will be disappointed if he signs for us next season.
He has been exceptional this season. I guess under Jose keepers will always be busy, but he has made so many saves this year.
Hugo's problem over the years has been the fack ups in big games. He seems to get quite nervous. I think having no fans has helped with that. Overall though he has been a great player for us.
I'm glad at least he has won a world cup, such a shame for a player of his quality to have won fack all with us.
Great shot stopper, good positionally, atrocious kicking the ball.

I've never been able to make my mind up on Lloris, which is odd in it's self given how long he's been number 1 at one of the 'big 6'.
Generally I rate him, and whenever I watch Spurs he pulls off saves that are incredible, good all round at most other areas of goalkeeping etc.
But then with him more than any other top keepers I have always thought that a lot of goals Spurs concede over the years, you find yourself saying 'keeper could have done better there'.
I'd go the other way I think he's over rated fantastic shot stopper but very error prone.
It's is a strange one as yes he can be incredible but also leaves you sctraching your head all to often.
And the gaffs always seem to be in the biggest of games.
Very good keeper. Not up there with the best in the world but he’s been a solid 7/10
Naturally people will remember the errors before the great saves, but show me a keeper that doesn't make errors.
David Seaman for example was regarded as a top class keeper, but he had little to do with the great defence in front of him, he made few errors and made few great saves also.
It's all relative, saves per shots faced is probably the best way to judge a keeper.
He is near the best keeper in the world. If we had someone like Lloris instead of De Gea for last few years we would have won like 20 more games. We actually got players similar to Lloris in Henderson and Romero but Ole bottled it last few years.
I’m glad it’s now down in cold hard facts just how good the guy is, regardless of the odd error here and there. He’s taken a bashing from too many spurs fans for too long. He’s the French World Cup winning captain. We’ve been damn lucky to have him for 9 years.
Thing is goalkeepers are held to a different standard than outfield players.
A defender gives away a free kick or penalty, an attacker misses an open goal? The tendency is to say "oh well they are better than that, just one of those those things".
Now a goalkeeper makes a high profile mistake (see Rob Green) and all of a sudden they are terrible and not fit to where the shirt (and Green was as good as Lloris is).
Keepers are easy targets.
Capable of great saves but every keeper playing for Spurs/France should be.
Terribly error prone (especially in big games), gets beaten at the near post far too often and can't kick. That half hit shot by Sanchez that gave 10 man Arsenal a draw at the Lane and stopped us going top of the Prem still haunts me.
So often he lets goals in where you find yourself thinking its not an obvious mistake but shouldn't he have done better. The Everton 5-4 Cup defeat was a great example of that.
Be lovely to kick off next season without him and you never know the defence might improve with a less dodgy keeper behind them.

no.
you wanted Pickford to replace him
I always find it difficult to judge him because he can make incredible saves and really silly mistakes. But then our defense can be really dodgy some times so it is difficult to judge <judge>
Overall I think he is a good keeper but not a world beater

At the time Pickford was playing well but has fallen away since.
Just because he isn't the man to replace Hugo doesn't mean we shouldn't get rid.
I liked Hugo till that Brighton game.
That was some weak tea.

seeing him at Sunderland i was keen too.
no doubt we will need to look at a longer term keeper to replace him, but i dont think we can go out there and get a keeper as good or better than him tbh.
I believe he is underrated by our fans and others. Admittedly, he had a really poor spell last season under Poch but came back in great form after his injury. This year has been a little more up and down for him but he's still been solid enough.
Fans predictably get on his back after a mistake but forget lots of good saves or good form that might come before it. Even Redknapp and Keane during their heated debate agreed he wasn't good enough for us, which made me scratch my head a little. He's been one of the more consistent parts of our defence.
I think he's been a top 5 keeper in the league since he's been with us, with periods where he has flirted with the top position.

The dodgy defence argument has never worked for me.
A poor keeper puts them on edge and the worse a defence is the more opportunities for a goalie to shine.
Hugo is one of many Spurs players who needs to go.
Love him. We can’t do much better IMO.

I disagree with every word of that, he is horribly overrated by many on here.
He is not consistent at all and like most of our defenders should be sold.
