I'm not in the anti mendes camp though he opens more doors to us than have ever been opened to us before
I think the relationship with Mendes has been a massive positive for the club. These agents make a distasteful amount of money but if the club is benefitting I can’t get down about that. He helped bring players and manager to the club that we had no right to attract as a championship club and they not only won that division but achieved our best years in the Premier League. And most turned their eyes up at the signing of the largely unheard of Neto who looks like he could become the most valuable signing to date

Amusing to read cinci and tam using this site to criticise what people are writing on another site. Personally I think most of what they write on this site is utter tripe so I’m certain most of the views they criticise are far more sensible than theirs

Yeah, given this was another excellent season I am surprised Nuno has gone as well.
Yeah I think Mendes has been much more a positive than a negative for us, many of the players we have now may not have come but for Mendes.
Think we need to get a director of football maybe at some point soon though, we don't seem to have a proper football man at the club these days other than Scott Sellers.
As for the sacking/mutual consent thing. It isn't surprising to hear that Fosun were not pleased, the football has been terrible and they were never going to sit back and accept that style for long once results dropped, I have been saying that from the start, when the football is poor to watch the results had better be good or you are under pressure very quickly.
I don't think most fans could take another season of what was served up this year, so the writing was on the wall.
Whoever we get as the new manager will get my full support and I'm sure he will play a more expansive game.
Will never knock Nuno's record, but his time was over.
Four years service is over the average.
The fear now is we make a poor appointment and that is certainly a risk given the people making the decisions though I suspect Mendes will have to be heavily I googled so that boosts the chances of getting a good guy in.
Even then it doesn't guarantee success. Fonseca would be a good appointment but he may fail, Lage has a lesser CV and may Excell. Let's be honest, if we took Ninos CV at face value he would have to have been considered a very risky appointment and he turned out to be the perfect fit at the perfect time. Sad to see him go in this manner but he will always be remembered as a legend for us now and rightly so.
Is it common to see players/managers wives live in another country?
Widely known Ninos family have stayed in Portugal but was that the case prior to Covid? If so then that is never a good thing and I am also reading that Neves family are in Portugal as well?!? Is Wolverhampton that bad
Also not surprised players allegedly questioned his tactics, we know there was a clear the air meeting at some point. It won't be any fun for players to have to be so rigid and defensive.
One manager I’ve not seen linked with the job is Ruben Amorim. He is inexperienced and only 36 which I’m sure counts against him. But he started as a coach with the Braga B team where he had a win record of 73%. Then he got promoted to their first team coach and had a win record of 77%. Now he is the manager of Sporting Lisbon who have won the Portuguese league, only losing one match all season, and his win record is 72%. Fairly impeccable record so far, albeit from a short managerial career
Just can't imagine he would be ready to leave Sporting at this stage with them riding the crest of a wave.

New challenge?
Wet Bum are hoping Nuno will join them. ๐
(I might have made that bit up.)
Amorim would multiply his salary by about 400% if he joined Wolves so I don’t think there’s any doubt we could get him if we wanted to. Just a matter of if he’s deemed too inexperienced

Which ones are under Mendes? That is probably a good indicator

Nah Cavalho doesn't come up as one.
Nuno
Mourinho
Lage
Hugo Vicente(Famalicao)
Karanka
Faria
Vasco Seabra
Nuno Capucho
Famalicao a club we have links with, hopefully not a manager coming our way though
Get shot of Jesus? shurley some mishtake?
Well, Huesca got relegated on the final day, so what now for Rafa Mir?
Yeah watched the end of the Atletico game and followed the results. Nuno was not keen apparently so be interesting to see if the new man and indeed Mir give it a look in the summer. Suspect Mir will just want to move back to Spain.
Don’t think Huesca getting relegated changes anything. Mir will either come back to Wolves or be sold by Wolves to a much bigger club than Huesca
Quite possibly one of our best signings of recent times financially, great bit of business. Who scouted him I wonder? Thelwell?
Rafa Mir's agents, wait for it... Gestifute
The way Mir has been treated at Wolves, it wouldn't surprise me if he stayed in Spain. Not give any chance here, so he may well stay at Huesca and try to get them promoted again. Oh wait, DJ says !!!
