Whilst I have always found it funny that the likes of Robbie Savage, Darren Bent, Jamie O'Hara etc even get air time. These are ex players who, not only won nothing, but didn't even play for a recognised big club.

Whilst Shearer did, of course score lot's of goals, I simply refuse to listen to any managerial comments and opinions he gives. The same goes for Gary Neville. Both were absolute disasters at playing manager, with both enjoying relegation in their respective short managerial spells.

These people clearly have no conscience, and must, I assume, just keep telling themselves they are entitled to give advice and opinion.

Sandy I think you are being too narrow minded here!

It’s not just about Kane leaving!

Other players may think what sort of ambitions have the club got by letting him go, they may want to follow suit and yes you’ll get a big cheque for Kane but again the ambition of the club would come into question again!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

RED666. I am not sure the club want him to go. They are not saying he should leave. It seems mostly media driven that he should leave. But he won`t leave unless a club is prepared to stump up the likely asking price of £150 million and upwards, which is very unlikely to happen. So that is why I expect him to still to be at Tottenham next season, at the very least.

You would think the club would do e everything in their power to keep him.

Winning trophies seems to be a priority for Kane now, he isn’t going to get that at Spurs in the short term, Levy needs to stop resting on his laurels and start bringing in some better players.

For the record I don’t think Kane will end up at Utd as we haven’t got a good enough squad to bag a load of trophies at present

United have a better chance than Spurs of winning trophies as it stands, but the asking price will probably price them out. Only the financially doped clubs will be able to afford him, and Levy won`t deal with Chelsea, so that only leaves City, and if Levy is dealing with them, then it will probably be a world record fee involved, knowing he can get whatever he wants out of them. The questions then would be would City still be within the FFP rules?

Kanes value will drop massively next season. The club is in a difficult position.

There's no reason we should fall apart if the right investment is made in the squad out of the Kane money, as well as bringing in a good manager. We could spend it on improving the defence, bringing in a half decent striker i.e. Ings, and then a new better manager could also add points on to what we missed out on last season.

At the end of the day we are in danger of finishing 9th and trophyless with Kane and the season he has had. As good as he has been it shows you that even individual players won't make or break a team when what surrounds them is largely crap.

The problem is that these pundits overuse certain words and phrases until they become lazy cliches; every game is 'huge', every player is 'world class', it's hyperbole pure and simple. Of course Spurs won't fall apart, we will need time to regroup and rebuild, but I suppose a reasonable assessment such as this isn't considered dramatic enough...I'm resigned to this sort of puerile punditry.

What does bug me though is the incessant line put out over the past couple of years that Kane 'has' to leave Spurs. It's as if there's a concerted campaign by all these so-called experts to sell our best player, I know that fans of other clubs will say that it happens to everyone but I don't it recall it happening to any other club at the level it has with Kane and Spurs.

They and the media generally portray Spurs as nothing more than a 'feeder' club and it p****s me off.

Good post

The media do seem to have a very unhealthy obsession
with trying to sell all Spurs best players over the years.

Apparently the FFP is either getting scrapped or totally changed, without doubt it’ll favour the likes of City.

I think Jenas tends to know what he's talking about, with a little ITK too.
Whereas Sandy....I would not bet a nickle on him knowing anything!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

LOL Jenus doesn`t know anymore than the average supporter. You really are dosy sometimes Ted.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
First off Sandy, your own knowledge is a lot worse than your typing...which is abominable.
Secondly, Jenas played the game for Spurs, and has inside contacts...I'd bet on him knowing a lot more than you do.
That said.......Kane has a career decision to make.
I hope he makes the right one...for him....not for you or any other Spurs supporter.

Quotes from Jenas for Sandy..........
"Jenas believes Kane's future will depend on the lengths he is prepared to go to try to force a move away.

"There are ways of forcing these moves and they are not pretty and it is the last resort," added Jenas.

"I have seen players do it. I have heard stories of players every time they get the ball in training booting it over the fence. I've heard horror stories of desks getting flipped over in manager's offices and all sorts. But I'm not sure Harry Kane is that type.

"If he has got it in him he can make it happen. I'm not sure he has."
