Before the first 10 games this season he'd been in releases. People rate him cause Newcastle defence as a whole were good. As soon as Coloccini went off it was only Krul keeping them in it v Chelsea with another bad defensive desplay v Norwich.
Personally I think Coloccini and Krul and to an extent Steven Taylor were what kept Newcastle defence working. Simpson distinctly average, did you see what Mata and Bradley Johnson did to him recently lol
