yeah, think I have a chance at home to Wolves tbh

I'm not so confident vs Man City tbh, going to have to play 4th choice CB.

What would you guys think about Soldado + Gomez both
Playing up top together? Think Soldado has the game to drop in to the hole, personally. But not sure

posted on 16/1/12

Think they both pretty much out and out maybe if chasing the game but prob wouldnt start both..just my opinion others may think different..

It's frustrating, as my first choice team for Man City(a) would be as a counter attacking force:

-------------------------Akinfeev--------------------------
------Amorebieta---Ferdinand----Dominguez-----
VDW---------------------------------------------------Periera-
-------------------------M'bia------------------------------
-------------------Inler--------Montolivo-----------------
-----------------------------------Kroos--------------------
-------------------------Gomez----------------------------

But with both Ferdy + Amor injured I may just go at it and attack.

Think Dominguez is a class CB, one of the best young ones in the world.

Lichtensteiner or VDW?

Aston Villa at home so all being well with injuries I'm thinking

-----------------Mignolet
Isla-------Ivanovic----Benatia--------Taiwo
---------------------Essien
-----Ramires-----Pastore--------Lavezzi
-------------Sturridge----Torres

Got a few injuries to starters but strong side, Essien should be ok in midfield with Pastore to help when needed. Ramires and Lacezzi very hard working anyway. Ramires and Torres have been linking really well recently, aside from Ramires in ability to weight through balls for Torres, Torres got the creativity to give Ramires chances to get in behind. Plus Sturridge to add a spark.

May decide to drop Moutinho into midfield alongside Essien rather than playing Pastore for this game

Usually 4-2-3-1 but at home against Villa want to try a few things

Afternoon

Having problems working out my strongest starting line up Think I've gotten to the stage where I've built a strong squad, now the hardest part is bringing in a top notch starting 11.

Will probably be trying a few things this week aswell LSTD, not my usual 4-3-3 this week anyway

Bring on the Chelsea! Not sure which cbs to go with now might just play them all

Kaboul - Evan - Samuel - Albiol - Chivu
-------------- Diarra - Arteta
Walcott -------------------------- Robinho
------------------- Forlan

posted on 16/1/12

If I had to pick two I'd say Albiol then probably Samuel, couldn't really seperate Kaboul/Chivu/Samuel but on last nights showing I'd have to go with Samuel, him and Lucio were outstanding at the back

Cahill signed today

Bid for Jovetic rejected too apparently. Would be a good buy

Away, JET

Diarra is my strongest midfield player need him there. Will have to go defensive away to Chelsea anyway

Kelly -------- Howedes -------------------- Coloccini --- Tremoulinas
-------------------------------- Sandro -----------------------------------
-------------- Granero ----------------------- Ganso --------------------

--------------------------- Defoe/Lisandro -----------------------------

What do we think lads, would this be my strongest possible team:

Yes got some good back up there too, maybe Maggio could play at RM and Ansaldi LB

Mark Saggers saying Chelsea must regret selling Sinclair. He must be crazy lol, he's having a decent season, but nothing special if anything Dyer has been better and our RW is miles ahead of Sinclair anyway lol

posted on 16/1/12

You got Ganso?

What you want for him lol

posted on 16/1/12

Yeah will probably play Maggio against the bigger clubs due to his defensive abilities, not sure how to rate Ansaldi/Tremoulinas so I went with Trem cause I watch a bit of French football whereas I don't watch much of the Russian league

Only on loan sadly Fan, he wouldn't be for sale if I had him permanently anyway

Ganso

posted on 16/1/12

Looks good follow, agree with that although might play both Lisandro and Defoe myself

If Sinclair had stayed at Chelsea I doubt he'd have developed as much anyway.

posted on 16/1/12

hmm yeah I'd hope to get both in the same team although I'd want to play Ganso aswell and that would leave me quite open, will need to look at a few things

Sinclair didn't do well for Wigan but he seems settled at Swansea. Don't think he'd get any chance at Chelsea with Sturridge Kalou Ramires for the right not too mention Kakuta out on loan too

Torres taking extra shooting practice after each training. It's looks like its working, he seemed a lot more confident and touch and technique all good so far in 2012. After these past few Ames I'm cirtainly a lot more confident he can get back to being a top player, especially after he played well vs Wolves then a bit ineffective till late on v Pompey but then a very good game v Sunderland. A few weeks ago if he had a bad game it would be months before he had another good one lol

Norwich at the weekend will be when we finally have our best 11 fit for the first time this season, assuming Ivanovic is fit.

Cech
Ivanovic Luiz Terry Cole
Romeu
Ramires Essien
Sturridge Torres Mata

Although think Lampard/Miereles and Essien will roars a lot

posted on 16/1/12

Personally think thats too defensive for a team supposed to be challenging for the title. Not going to get many goals from midfield there.

Although maybe not with Luiz at the back!

posted on 16/1/12

Really? Ramires only 2 less than Lampard and Essiens always played a more advanced role for Ghana and generally scored 8-10 goals a season from deep so as an advanced midfielder can be getting up to 15 as can Ramires imo

I'm sure a more attacking one will join in summer or Mata will play just behind Torres but for now think that's our best midfielder, all move the ball quickly with good fast passing, all quick and very powerful so can work well

posted on 16/1/12

Willian-Kagawa-Milner
Bent

my front 4 this weekend i reckon

posted on 16/1/12

From what I've seen Ramires' finishing is awful. Essien 8-10 goals a season? Think thats simply wishful thinking, know he scores a screamer now and then but not a regular scorer.

If both Essien and Ramires are starting I don't see what the need for Romeu is. Chelsea's defence should be strong enough that it doesn't need that extra protection and with the work rate of Essien of Ramires don't see why he would play as well as.
