Saw this from a twitter tacticto
A few years ago, I was on the train that Kylian Mbappe is a significantly better footballer than Erling Haaland.
But ever since Erling Haaland joined Manchester City, that gap has completely vanished, and Erling Haaland has just completely overtaken him.
Mbappe has not necessarily declined, but he has witnessed a stagnation. No progress, no development, never left his comfort zone, and suffered for it.
Now he gets thrown into a completely new environment, where he is not the new superstar, and is completely struggling to adapt.
Erling Haaland, on the other hand, adapted his game, and keeps showing development. His link-up play, for example, has became significantly better over the past 2 seasons. And even his strengths become even stronger.

Normal for players to take time to adapt. High expectations on Mbappe as he’s one of best players in world. Modric was poor for a full year when he moved to Madrid.
And don’t think there’s been any development in Haalands link up play. His link up play was better at Dortmund. He only has about 10 touches a game at City.
But he doesn’t need more. He’s a penalty box striker and best in world.
