Fair point on Monty/Pirlo. But even then likes of Aquilani, Marchisio are about level with Montolivo.

Obviously its not going to be true for all players, but in most cases I think if your not good enough for your country your not going to be good enough to get in one of the best sides in the world.

Best example against I can see is Carrick.

Robinho might not have a great scoring record but even then I'd take him over everyone elses forwards mentioned except Cavani. Same with Tevez personally.
