10 apps this season, hes shown a good improvement between when he joined and the latter stages of the season, dont think thats bad tbh all things considered. He'll get his loan next year and he'll show what he can do.

Lukaku has Drogba and Torres ahead of him. Think that says it all.

Also was Kalou not an out and out forward at Feyenoord, and Sturridge before.

Still very young, so don't see it as a big deal that he hasn't played much.

Alot of younsters have contributed so much more to other clubs, chelsea have been fighting on all fronts and only really drogba to count on, torres has been truly awful and you cant say he hasnt and lukaku has started 3-4 games...he is either not good enough or cant be trusted..tell me who did he start against?

yeah he will still be the captain, same as carra being vice captain, gerrard can only be counted as a luxury player for the past season or 2 now, a big bonus when hes fit to play, but dont expect him to play 40+ games a season

and we have a good few players that can take the armband when neither are playing, i think reinas first in line, then kuyt, agger and skrtel, think lucas has also captained us before, but dont know if any of the above started the game with him

Only at Arsenal can I think of 18 years being regulars, even then I'm thinking of Fabregas mainly not many others.

Throw in an 18 year old when they aren't ready and it's only going to damage their career.

AOC was obviously going to play more because arsenal give all their young players a chance, just because lukaku hasnt played 20 odd games doesnt mean hes a rubbish player. hes clearly a very good one otherwise there wouldnt have been so many players after him.

Fan torres hasnt been terrible at all. Hes got what 25 goals/assists this season. thats not terrible at all the media have just gone way way over board with him. when torres hasnt been playing well he hasnt played drogba has. lukaku isnt a normal 18 year old youth product though is he, hes had 2 full seasons in the belgian league and has about a dozen caps for a pretty decent belgian side, so theoretically its shouldnt take him too long to adapt, and he not exactly a 5'8" silky dribbler that need time to beef up, he is a brick shithouse ready to better teams
