We've got Wales in our next group as well.

Majority of Scotland fans think our next group is easier to get out of Croatia, Serbia and Belgium all better than Czech Republic for me.

Belgium should have a very good team this time round.

Mignolet, Vertonghen, Kompany, Lukaku to name but a few. Wouldn't be surprised to see them run Croatia close. Good competitive group though

Hennessey,
Gunter, Williams, Blake, Matthews
Allen, Crofts, Ramsey, Bale,
Bellamy, Morison.

Against

Gordon/McGreggor
Hutton Berra Caldwell Bardsley
Morrison Fletcher Adam Bannan
Naismith
Miller

Don't know if that's Wales strongest side, I think we look stronger at the moment. But given another year for some of Wales players to develop I'm not sure.

Serbia and croatia not what they used to be, Belgiuma are my biggest worry tbh, we have a chance tho

posted on 12/11/11

Ye we always have a chance.

Not as difficult a group as Euro 2008 qualification when we had France, Italy and Ukraine and only just missed out.

croatia had a dip but getting better imo they still ahve some amazing players

serbia as i say defensivly very good but going forward only krasic really that good imo

Ye Kolarov, Ivanovic, Rajkovic don't think any of them would get a game for Scotland. Vidic ahead of Caldwell but he's retired.

posted on 12/11/11

yeh he got sent off today for serbia, two stupid tackles no where near his goal lol

The box thing didn't seem to be working so I just put the stats at the bottom.

Liverpool vs Hull City Match Report:

A big game at Anfield between two sides looking for a European place, Liverpool and Hull City. There had been a few exchanges of words before the match, LSTD claiming his side had the better balance between attack and defence and Fan claiming Hull’s side had a much better midfield and were going to overpower Liverpool in that area. The game kicked off and you could see the emotions of the players were already flying high and they were looking to carry on their respective managers words onto the pitch as Motta went straight in on Neymar with a big sliding challenge. The ref decided to give Motta a warning due to how early in the game it was. Hull took the resulting free kick long into the box and the ball was met by a towering header from Rami but Mandanda saved well. Liverpool started passing the ball well, making Hull do all the running and Ramires found a gap in behind Kolarov where Lucas was running. Lucas hit the cross first time but miscued and the ball lobbed over Stekelenburg but hit the top of the crossbar and went over, a lucky escape for Hull on that occasion. Hull were starting to struggle, they just couldn’t get the ball down on the floor to play it. Liverpool were running rings around them, Motta and Ramires shared a nice little one-two before Motta played a curling ball around Danilo to Bale but Bale took too long crossing the ball and Danilo got back to make a brilliant sliding tackle. Liverpool again pressed, Romeu playing a beautiful long ball to Lucas who brought the ball down on his chest well and drilled the ball across goal to Balotelli who hit it first time from 6 yards out but Stekelenburg made a wonderful save to stop him! Liverpool began to attack again Romeu playing a nice ball to Ramires who turned Vidal with ease. Ramires then played the ball to Balotelli to feet, Balotelli then tried to feed the ball to Bale down the left but Danilo intercepted well and this sparked a counter attack for Hull. Danilo played a lovely curling through ball which Neymar collected. Neymar then pushed the ball on past Alex and he was in on goal. He made a few step overs and got past Mandanda easily but Mandanda’s outstretched arms brought Neymar down inside the penalty box. The referee immediately pointed to the spot and there was no other option but for the ref to send Mandanda off. The Liverpool players protested furiously and Alex picked up a yellow card in the process. LSTD was forced to make a change, Thiago Motta was the unlucky man to be subbed off for Weidenfeller to replace Mandanda in goal. Darren Bent stepped up to take the penalty and calmly stroked the ball into the bottom left corner sending the keeper the wrong way. That signalled the end of the first half with Hull getting an undeserved 1-0 lead at Anfield, giving Liverpool it all to do with just 10 men. The second half began and both sides remained the same but Hull City seemed to have a mentality change, they wanted to attack and finish Liverpool off. They noticed that Liverpool were down further in midfield and so tried punishing them for this. Busquets picked the ball up and played it to Vidal, Vidal then slipped the ball through Romeu’s legs before playing it Neymar. Neymar chipped the ball up and swiftly turned and shot on the volley. He nearly scored a fantastic goal but for a magnificent save from the replacement goal keeper Weidenfeller. From the resulting corner, Hull went 2-0 up. Milner lofted the ball in the box, Luiz headed the ball out but only as far as Danilo. Danilo struck the ball first time on the volley and it went straight into the top corner like a bullet, an absolutely fabulous goal from the young Brazilian. It all looked over for Liverpool at this point and it nearly was, Bent’s through ball sent Neymar through once again and he chipped the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper but the ball struck the post and Liverpool managed to clear. Both sides decided to make changes with Hull bringing Lennon, Sakho and Matri on for Neymar, Agbonlahor and Bent respectively and Liverpool thinking there are not quite out yet, bringing on some more attacking force in the form of Cavani and Pastore for Romeu and Taiwo. Then, just 2 minutes later, it all kicked off. A very high challenge from Milner on Pastore sparked all 21 players on the pitch into a bit of a brawl. When this all ended, 6 players finally got booked. David Luiz and Bale for Liverpool and Milner, Matri, Busquets and Vidal for Hull. With many players and fans completely shocked at the fact Milner remained on the pitch. This then got Liverpool going, Hull started to sit back on their lead and the 10 men got one back through Javier Pastore. Balotelli’s cross from the left hand side was met by Pastore at the back post unmarked to score with just 2 minutes of normal time to go. The board then went up for added time and there were 8 minutes which brought a huge uproar from the Liverpool fans. Liverpool so nearly got their equaliser, 4 minutes in. Some nice passing play from Ramires and Pastore, saw Pastore deliver a brilliant curling effort that looked destined for the top right hand corner but Stekelenburg pulled off yet another brilliant save. From the resulting corner, Bale lifted one in the box but Rami headed the ball out. This sparked a counter attack and a possible end for Liverpool. Lennon picked up the ball and raced past Alex. He then played Kolarov in who had acres of space with no player even 30 yards near to him, he had just the keeper to beat. He ran closer and closer and tried to take it round Weidenfeller and nearly managed before going to ground. The referee awarded the 2nd penalty to Hull much to the shock of Weidenfeller who felt Kolarov had dived. All the Liverpool players surrounded the ref but these events weren’t over yet as the ref ran over to his linesman, they had a little chat and the referee changed his decision. He then booked Kolarov for diving and Liverpool were still in it. They got a corner with just seconds left. Even the goalkeeper was up! Bale whipped the ball and Ruiz couldn’t clear properly. There was a massive goal mouth scramble which eventually saw the ball end up in the Hull City net, Balotelli seemed to be the man running away with a smile on his face celebrating. That was the last kick of the game and it ended 2-2. Fan, then seemed to have words with the linesman and the referee at the end of the match, clearly voicing his concerns.

I did like the idea of where smaller teams could actually beat bigger teams where say Arsenal vs Sunderland:
In a random generator thing, Arsenal get 15 wins, 4 draws and Sunderland get 1 win where Sunderland actually had a chance of winning but that does bring it down to luck aswell as transfer skill and tactics skill but I always liked that idea, gave the smaller teams a bit more of a chance and stopped more draws. There is alos very few wins by 2 or more goals, so maybe if the random generator gave a 1 or 2 in the above example, Arsenal should win 4 or maybe 5-0.

if that happened people were always going to complain if their tactics were good enough not to lose.

i said id use it in the domestic cups which i am doing but dont think it would be very fair to do it in the league, definitly not when we are 10 games into it already too
