Finn got 125 wickets..... woo hoo
Are we Bangladesh? We are celebrating 100 Test wickets now?
All you people that think England produce great bowlers consistently, name be a great bowler that has made their debut since the mid 2000s?
England have produced excellent quicks but not as great as South Africans or Aussies and the reason is they are too text book. Fast bowlers emanate from streets not nets like strikers in football
Tbf we may have just been spoiled by how good Broad and especially Jimmy is/was. We've had a lot of talented bowlers but no one that's been at their level for a consistent period

I want my question answered, I am in the mood to get ‘owned’ again
Have we produced any great bowlers since Anderson, Broad and Swann?

short answer is no for "great"...I have my doubts about Jofra Archer, as others probably do
No absolutely not
Giddins bowled well vs SA in 2003 and then did nothing
Mahmood did well against SL in 2006 and did nothing
Bresnan started well and I loved him actually but then he faded and in the end got only 72 Test wickets, that is disappointing
Finn was considered our new pace king, he looked a top bowler that could even do well in white ball cricket and then faded away.
I don’t consider 3-4 year careers successful careers, maybe you have loser expectations and would be happy with that, but it’s not enough for me.

And the govt's reaction to this is appaling.it seems suddenly you can do what you feckin like if you are 18

Why the fack they got involved, I have no idea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As a matter of curiosity , did the government comment on the continued booing of the the England team when they take the knee?
You seem to have extremely low expectations. That’s the problem. You consider 32 Test wickets a successful career.
I was quite excited about Onions, Tremlett, Bresnan, Finn, even Dernbach who all came into the team around early 2010s and all either faded away or got injured.

Haven't needed to in terms of pace bowlers, but yes spin is a big miss.
You seem to be arguing for the sake or arguing. One point we both agree on is that we have not produced a great bowler since the mid 2000s however there are many occasions where a new bowler has come in and people have got excited only to find out it was another false dawn.
My opinion is that Robinson will be another disappointment, but if he proves me wrong, good luck to him.
However, now he has been suspended, we won’t find out. I’d rather he was still allowed to play so I can see if I was right.

How many great bowlers did Australia produce when they had Lee Warne and Mcgrath?
Probably just 1 other in Gillespie.

You are right Giddins was earlier, the guy that did well vs SA in 2003 was James Kirtley. Another one to add to the list

This. You're hardly going to have a queue of 500+ wickets takers during a period where Anderson and Broad have largely reigned
Given there's only really 4 bowling spots, I'd say we've done pretty damn good to have 2 of those be occupied for 10+ years.
You're mad if you expect every single bowler to come in and hold down a place for that long.
Broad and Anderson should NEVER be compared to Warne and McGrath, especially Broad. That’s the first mistake there.
The fact that Lee and Gillespie still came through is already much more impressive than what we have achieved recently.
