Olly Robinson the racist

Broad would never have played for Australia for so long, the only reason Broad has had such a long career is that we haven’t produced enough bowlers to replace him.

Anderson is a legend though.

Lol I meant Australia in the late 90s and early 2000s

I also take into account white ball cricket. Now what has Broad done in white ball cricket apart from getting tinker for 6 sixes in an over?

Why is 28 supposedly a great average over a long career? Think of all the greats with the ball. It’s either early 20s to mid 20s.

The difference between an average of 25 and 28 is huge when you take into account the amount of wickets taken.

Also, can we please stop mentioning records vs Australia.Australia are nowhere near the side they used to be. I don’t see why that’s important at all.

He has done well in some big matches, I agree there.

I just feel overall he’s a cut below the true greats in bowling.

I'd call Broad an England great, whereas Anderson is a word great. Consistency is key for Jimmy. Broad could and has destroyed batting line ups but can also bowl too short and be ultimately useless.

Well put Barefoot 👍

Yes let’s get back to the original topic

I feel Ollie Robinson is an idiot, but still I feel he didn’t deserve to get suspended.

How long ago were these tweets? And, why ban him now and not a year ago or does a player have to play for England before getting caught out (pun intended)

Yes that’s my problem with it. I don’t understand why it was acceptable before and not now..

Well he got sacked from Yorkshire for what they call unprofessional behaviour. No further details were given so journalists then tried more digging and found he had questionable beliefs.

Broad and Anderson should NEVER be compared to Warne and McGrath, especially Broad. That’s the first mistake there.

The fact that Lee and Gillespie still came through is already much more impressive than what we have achieved recently.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wasn't making direct individual comparisons I was making comparisons with teams with established bowling attacks. Which is the whole point.

The ECB are looking into a historical 'offensive' social media post from a second England player.

The identity of the player has been obscured, who had yet to turn 16 at the time.

Ffs another witch hunt incoming

My mate sent me a screenshot with a tweet from Jimmy in 2010 that read:

‘ I saw Broady’s haircut for the first time today. Not sure about it, thought he looked like a 15 year old lesbian’

Not sure if it’s genuine but no doubt some jobsworth will have searched back years through thousands of tweets for something like that.

It will be a new player and aged 15 is very young unlike Robinson being 18/19.

I support ECB, retrospective action is necessary to eliminate racism

Amir was 17 and got the same ban (5 years) as older players in their late 20s when the spot fixing scandal occurred. Wrong is wrong

Retrospective action is addressing the symptom rather than the cause.

So I don’t think it’s the best way to tackle racism/sexism anyway.

Not even sure if stupid jokes are full blown racism/sexism anyway. What they need is education at the time rather than bans after 8 years.

Match fixing is a whole different ball game.
